Birmingham v Preston predictions and betting tips

Birmingham will be looking for their second victory of their Championship campaign when they take on Preston on Saturday afternoon. Birmingham kicked off the new Championship season with a 2-1 win over Bristol City, but have failed to win a single game since then. They head into this tie on the back of a six-game winless streak across all competitions, including a 2-0 loss at Leeds last time out in the Championship. On the other hand, Preston have enjoyed a decent run of form recently, winning two and drawing two of their last four Championship games. The most impressive thing is that Preston have kept a clean sheet in three of these. I think that Preston are more than capable to secure a positive result in this one, particularly due to the fact that they are undefeated in seven meetings with Birmingham.

Brentford v Reading predictions and betting tips

Brentford and Reading will square off on Saturday afternoon, with both teams looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship. Brentford are still searching for their first victory of the campaign, having lost four and draw three of their opening seven league fixtures. Conceding has been Brentford's main issue throughout the season as they allowed eleven goals in seven rounds. On the other hand, Readin have enjoyed a mixed start to the season, registering three defeats, four wins and one draw in their eight competitive fixtures this season. Both teams have struggled for consistency in this early part of the season, but we should see a couple of goals in this one as the last four meetings between these two have seen more than three goals scored.

Bristol City v Derby predictions and betting tips

Bristol City will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak in the Championship to six games when they take on Derby on Saturday afternoon. Bristol City managed to hold Wolves to a 3-3 draw away from home in midweek to extend their undefeated run in the Championship to five games. Their sole defeat of the season came at the hands of Birmingham in the second round. Bristol City can count on their home form ahead of this clash as they have only lost two of their last 15 home games across all competitions. Derby's form in this early part of the season has been a complete mixed bag with three defeats, four wins and one draw in their eight competitive games. Last time out in the Championship, Derby managed an impressive 5-0 home win over Hull City, including a brace from Bradley Johnson. It's difficult to separate these two sides as both have been up and down in this early part of the campaign, but I find value in the 'Total Goals' market as four of the last five meetings between these two teams have seen more than three goals scored.

Burton v Fulham predictions and betting tips

Burton will aim to get back to winning ways in the Championship when they take on in-form Fulham on Saturday afternoon. Burton only managed a nil-nil draw on the road at Norwich in midweek to extend their winless streak in the Championship. Scoring goals has been their main issue during this run as they have only found the back of the net once in their last three league games. On the contrary, Fulham head into this tie on the back of a three-game unbeaten streak in the Championship, including a 2-1 home win over Hull City in midweek. In addition, Fulham are undefeated in their three meetings with Burton across all competitions, scoring two goals in two of these. Fulham looked much better than Burton in this early part of the season and they should be able to grab all three points here, as Burton currently hold the joint worst defensive record in the division.

Cardiff City v Sheffield Wednesday predictions and betting tips

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to continue their good run of form in the Championship when they travel to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon. Cardiff City had a strong start to the new season, but their recent run of form has seen them win just once in their last three league games. They drew 1-1 at Fulham last weekend and followed this up with a 3-0 loss at Preston in midweek. Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday lost 1-0 at Preston in the opening round, but they haven't lost a single Championship game since then. They have won three and draw three of their last six league games, including a 2-1 home victory over Brentford in midweek. Both sides looked decent recently, so I think that the 'Both teams to score' market look good value at odds 5/6.

Hull City v Sunderland predictions and betting tips

Hull City and Sunderland will be facing each other on Saturday afternoon, with both teams looking to return to winning ways in the Championship. Hull City have been terrible in this early part of the season, having won just two of their eight competitive fixtures. Their recent form has seen them lose five of their last six games across all competitions, including a 2-1 defeat at Fulham in midweek. Meanwhile, Sunderland have suffered back-to-back defeats in their last four Championship games, conceding at least two goals in three of these. The good news is that Sunderland looked decent on the road over the past month, having lost just once in their last five away games across all competitions. With both sides in poor run of form at the moment, I'm expecting a low-scoring affair in this one.

Ipswich v Bolton Wanderers predictions and betting tips

Ipswich will take on Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, with both sides looking to put an end to their disappointing run of form. Ipswich have lost their last three games across all competitions, including a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup. They have been terrible at the back in this term, conceding two goals in each of their three games. On the other hand, Bolton have suffered defeats in each of their last three Championship games, but the most worrying fact is that they have failed to score a single goal in the process. Despite the fact that both sides are in terrible shape at the moment, I think that Ipswich could win this game as they have been decent at home recently and they have also won the last four home games against Bolton, keeping a clean sheet in each of these.

Middlesbrough v QPR predictions and betting tips

Middlesbrough will look to continue their good run of form when they welcome QPR on Saturday afternoon in the Championship. Middlesbrough have only lost two of their eight competitive games so far this season and enter the fray on the back of a four-game unbeaten run across all competitions. Boro have been impressive at the back of late, having kept a clean sheet in each of their last four competitive fixtures. QPR, on the flip side, have endured a mixed run of form over the past month, registering three defeats, two draws and four wins in their last nine games across all competitions. The bad news is that Middlesbrough have been terrible on the road over the past seven months, having won just once in their last 15 games across all competitions while losing twelve. I'm backing Boro to extend their unbeaten home streak across all competitions and to pick up another win in this one.

Millwall v Leeds United predictions and betting tips

Leeds United will look to extend their unbeaten start to the new Championship campaign when they travel to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon. The newcomers Millwall have been up and down in this early part of their competitive 2017/18 season, registering two wins, three draws and four defeats in their nine games. The good news is that Millwall have been in a better run of form over the past six months, losing just two of their last ten home games across all competitions. In addition, They have won four of their last five home meetings with Leeds United. Meanwhile, Leeds United have been incredibly strong in this early part of the season, having won five and draw two of their opening seven games. They looked impressive at both ends of the field during this run, scoring 14 goals and conceding just two in the process. Leeds are the in-form side, but Millwall hold a strong head-to-head home record over them. It's difficult to separate these two sides, but I'm not expecting too many goals in this one.

Nottingham Forest v Wolverhampton predictions and betting tips

Wolves will look to extend their unbeaten streak in the Championship to four games when they take on Nottingham on Saturday afternoon. Nottingham have only lost three of their nine competitive games this season and come into this tie on the back of an impressive 0-1 win at Sunderland in midweek. At home, Nottingham were on a seven-game unbeaten streak across all competitions prior to their 0-2 loss against Leeds in their most recent home league fixture. Wolves, on the other hand, have only lost once in their last ten games across all competitions and come into this clash on the back of a four-game unbeaten run. They are undefeated in three league games at the moment, including a 3-3 home draw against Bristol City in midweek, despite the fact they had a one-goal lead twice. Wolves should be able to secure a positive result in this one as they are undefeated in the last five meetings with Nottingham and they are also the in-form team.

Sheffield United v Norwich predictions and betting tips

Sheffield United will be aiming to extend their winning streak in the Championship to five games when they face Norwich on Saturday afternoon. Sheffield United have won their last four games in the Championship, having conceded just two goals in this term. Their home form over the past seven months has been impressive as they have only lost once in their last 14 home games across all competitions while winning twelve. On the other hand, Norwich have endured a mixed run of form over the past month, registering two draws, three defeats and four wins in their last nine games across all competitions. They enter the fray on the back of a two-game unbeaten streak in the Championship, keeping a clean sheet in each of these. Norwich have won the last two meetings with Sheffield United, but the hosts have picked up wins in three of their last five home games against Norwich. The 'Both teams to score' market look good value at odds 5/8, as both sides got on the scoresheet in the most recent two meetings between them.

Barnsley v Aston Villa predictions and betting tips

Barnsley and Aston Villa will be facing each other on Saturday afternoon, with both teams looking to continue their good run of form in the Championship. Barnsley have only lost once in their last five games across all competitions, and head into this tie on the back of a three-game unbeaten run. They have been scoring goals for fun recently, having netted at least two goals in three of their last five competitive fixtures. Meanwhile, Aston Villa are undefeated in the last five games across all competitions, although the most recent three of these have ended in draws. The most worrying fact is that Villa have only won one of their last five away games and are currently winless in three league trips. Barnsley looked solid at home in this early part of the campaign and I'm backing them to snatch at least one point from this clash.
