Redbet Review

RedBet is not one of those online betting companies born during a lunchtime conversation between a couple of venture capitalists. It’s the brainchild of a group of Swedish computer nerds and a couple of guys who had some experience in sports betting who started small and dreamed big. In 2004 the RedBet online sportsbook sputtered to life, and in the intervening years, the company has grown into an internationally recognised brand that, while not yet the equal of Bwin or BetVictor is nonetheless not too far behind.

RedBet have become known for the breadth of their markets and the reliability of their operation. Their parent company is Evoke Gaming, and they’re licensed and regulated by both the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission. You won’t hear many punters who have negative things to say about the operation, other than the fact that their odds could sometimes be better.

Football is definitely the most covered sport on RedBet with an impressive array of markets available either through pre-event or live betting. On a typical day, there may be as many as 10,000 football wagers available at RedBet. While the site doesn’t set any records for the number of leagues, they cover they’re able to offer all those bets because of the depth of action on individual games.

RedBet’s website is meant to impress, and it does a fair job of that. We say fair because while it’s professionally designed with lots of charcoal greys and muted reds, there’s too many photos for our taste and too many bells and whistles. Not to be a wet blanket but it all distracts from the business of wagering money on sporting events. Fortunately, you can still do plenty of that on the RedBet site.

The RedBet site is available in half a dozen languages. They are: English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Polish. They utilise the standard 3 column architecture on most pages with the sports listed down the left side, the relevant information in the centre and your betting slip and other info - including the most popular markets - displayed down the right side.

If you access the site on your smartphone, you’re automatically redirected to their mobile app which has all the features of the desktop site, including live betting. Sports that RedBet currently provide action on are:

  • Football

  • Baseball

  • Basketball

  • Cricket

In-Play Betting

RedBet offer something called “Super Live” betting, which is another form of in-play betting in addition to their standard offering. Besides offering up a graphic depiction of the pitch Super Live is supposed to offer more minute by minute markets although it escapes us why they can’t offer these in the standard in-play section. Although it’s hard to prove we suspect that the “Super Live” component was devised as a way to mollify folks (like us) who are constantly clamouring for betting sites to embrace live streaming, which is still more “live” than any “Super Live” offering.

That is not to complain about their in-play offerings, which are generally excellent and cover nearly all the sports they offer.

RedBet Free Bets, RedBet Bonus Offers and RedBet Promo Code

RedBet have a decent welcome bonus they’re offering new customers and typically offer a wide range of other promotions. Since they change on a regular basis, it doesn’t make sense to try and list them here. We’ll just tackle the major ones and give you any RedBet promo code you may need.

  • RedBet Bonus for New Customers - Open a new account (your first one) with RedBet, and they’ll provide you with a RedBet free bets bonus of up to 50% of your initial deposit up to a maximum of £50. Just enter the RedBet promo code “johnnybet” to claim this RedBet free bets welcome bonus.

  • RedBet Free Bets Refund - This RedBet bonus offers to refund any bet up to £20 should you lose. It has to be a pre-match bet placed on a major EU football contest. If the match winds up, 0-0 call their live support and receive your refund credit.

As we said, there are myriad RedBet bonus offerings that pop up on a regular basis. Some require a RedBet promo code while others do not. It’s always smart to check their promotions tab when logging in.

What We’re Not Crazy About

We’re not crazy about the design of the site. It looks to us like they’re trying too hard (although it doesn’t really interfere with usability). We’re not crazy about the so-so odds that spring up here and there. Oh, and we’re not crazy about the fact that here’s another site that doesn’t offer live streaming.

By a large amount RedBet is a solid and engaging website that delivers where it matters; in the number and quality of their betting markets and odds. They offer lots of ways to bet on a website that, while not the best looking we’ve seen, is still easily navigable. It seems certain that RedBet will continue to expand and could someday challenge the market leaders.
