Betpack Review

Betpack has only been around since 2009, but in that relatively short amount of time, it’s managed to carve out a niche for itself in an online gambling industry that seems to get more crowded by the day. Their efforts to attract punters was given a significant shot in the arm when they signed a partnership agreement with gambling giant Stan James. The resources Stan James brings to the partnership has enabled Betpack to up their game in an attempt to become as well-known online as they are to foot traffic in Ireland where they originated. Betpack today is licensed and registered in Malta and also registered by the UK Gambling Commission.

It seemed apparent at the time the partnership was announced that Betpack intended to make an expanded play for a piece of the continental bookmaking action and that suspicion seems to have been accurate. But the company (at least on the face of things) still maintain a sense of their roots in the Emerald Isle although the website has a distinctly more neutral flavour these days.

Website

Speaking of the website… the Betpack website is a professional looking affair. Orange-yellows, black and shades of grey abound, and the whole thing is attached to the standard 3 column framework, so there’s no learning curve if you’re accessing the site for the first time. You’ll find a wide selection of sports on offer including things like Inter-county and Club Championships. Golf is well represented, and they offer a variety of live sports commentaries. Live event streaming is also available but only to a limited degree with most of the live action focused on horse-racing and tennis. Although that could change, we’re told going forward.

If you want to know about upcoming events, you can find them listed on your betting slip on the right-hand side of the page. Currently, the following sports are available for pre-event betting:

  • Horse Racing

  • Greyhounds

  • Football

  • Darts

  • Rugby Union

  • Ice Hockey

  • Cricket

  • Hurling

  • Motorsports

  • Basketball

  • Tennis

  • Baseball

  • NFL

  • Boxing

  • Golf

  • Rugby League

  • GAA Football

  • UFC/MMA

  • Snooker

  • Outrights

Betpack do have a fancy mobile app, but for some head-scratching reason, it’s not available for those whose smartphones use a Windows operating system.

In-Play Betting

At the time of our visit, BetPack were offering a fairly measly four different sports in the live betting section of the site. Hardly enough to set the world on fire. There were 12 football matches, eight ice hockey games, six basketball games and two tennis matches. While there were plenty of markets available for each contest the paucity of overall offerings was curious since we’d never heard anyone complain about a lack of live betting options at the site. We thought we’d just hit them up on a bad day, so on a randomly selected day a bit later we stopped back, but the same type of less than impressive line-up greeted us. Maybe just bad luck on our part but still...

Betpack Free Bet, Betpack Bonus and Other Betpack Promo Offers

The Betpack bonus area is one that we’d been told was underwhelming, but we actually found it fairly well populated. Many more promos than some other sites. While their welcome bonus is a relatively modest €25 and only offered to those who sign on for a real money account, it’s far from the only bonus on offer. For those who qualify this Betpack promo is offered in the form of a Betpack free bet.

There are a number of revolving Betpack bonus offers that come and go by the week so it would be pointless to try and list them here. Let’s just say they include Betpack promo offers related to World Cup Qualifying, Premier League fixtures, UFC matches as well as a variety of horse racing related Betpack free bet and Betpack bonus offers.

All in all the number and variety of Betpack bonus and Betpack promo offers is anything but disappointing.

Deposits and Payments

Betpack offer the usual suspects when it comes to deposit and payment methods. Nothing extraordinary but certainly more variety than some other online bookmakers. Currently, acceptable methods for transacting business with Betpack include:

  • VISA credit and debit

  • MasterCard credit and debit

  • Skrill Moneybookers

  • Neteller

  • Paysafecard

  • Laser

  • Solo

  • Bank Transfer

We experienced no problems with deposits, and our modest winnings were paid out in around 24 hours, so no complaints there either.

Things We Like About BetPack

We like the Betpack bonus and Betpack promo offers. We like the various Betpack free bet offers. We like that they offer live streaming, even if it’s to a limited degree and focused on a limited number of sports. We like the look and feel of the website. We like the variety of sports available for pre-event betting along with the basically competitive odds and the number of markets within each event. And we like that they offer more than 3 or 4 ways to transact business.

What We’re Not Crazy About

We don’t understand why they would ignore millions of smartphones that use Windows. Seems short-sighted. We’re not crazy about what seems like a limited number of live betting options and the Betpack welcome bonus, while indeed welcome, is modest, to say the least.

Conclusion

Betpack aspire to be the big time but don’t seem to want to spend the money to get all the way to the top. That said the site was easy to use, easy to understand, all relevant information was simple to find, easy to access and they offer an impressive array of sports action; from the highest profile to the truly obscure. It would not take much to put Betpack at the top; a doubling of the live betting options, a few more sports involved in live streaming and extending their mobile app to accommodate all those people with Nokia smartphones. Since the company is still fairly new, we’ll give them both the benefit of the doubt and the time needed to make necessary adjustments. In the meantime, both novice gamblers and experienced punters should find something to like here.
