Real Sociedad vs Osasuna Match Prediction
Real Sociedad have taken a hammering in the last two games with Real Madrid responsible for the latest 3-0 loss. Mateo Kovacic, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Alvaro Morata scored the goals, while Inigo Martinez was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 74th minute. Osasuna continue to pick up points through draws with the latest being a 1-1 draw with Malaga. Michael Santos missed a first-half penalty for Malaga, but both teams scored in the space of three second-half minutes to take a point from the match. Goran Causic was the scorer for Osasuna, while Ignacio Camacho provided the equaliser for Malaga.

Real Sociedad Preview
Real Sociedad remain in the hunt for a Champions League place even after some heavy defeats in the last five games. Eusebio has focused on getting wins from teams lower down the table. Since November, Real Sociedad have failed to win only four league matches – three of those games were against La Liga’s current top three of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Sevilla. A major factor behind Real Sociedad being just one point behind Atletico Madrid is their reasonable return of 15 points from the away games – a return which places the club as the fifth best in terms of away form.
Petar Vasiljevic’s appointment at the start of January already seems to have had a positive effect on the team. Osasuna have only suffered one defeat– an extremely close 4-3 loss against title-chasing Sevilla – in the last three league matches. Still, the lack of a first win continues to be a spot of bother for the interim boss. For all their recent form, they have had just one win this season. As a result, the team are eight points adrift of the safety. With just one clean sheet so far this season, Osasuna know that they have to improve at both ends of the pitch in order to secure the first win under Vasiljevic.
Real Sociedad Team News
Inigo Martinez is suspended for the game after two yellow cards in the loss against Real Madrid. Mikel Gonzalez (thigh) and Carlos Martinez (cruciate ligament) are the injury concerns for Eusebio.
Osasuna Team News
Miguel Flano (meniscus), Didier Digard (cruciate ligament), and Mario Fernandez-Cuesta (leg) are the injury worries for Osasuna.
Betting Tips and Predictions
Osasuna’s last win at the Anoeta was in 2005. Real Sociedad have come out on top against Osasuna in the recent meetings between the two clubs, but they have been able to secure only two wins in the last six matches. Incredibly, the remaining four games have finished as a draw. Even though Osasuna have shown a tendency to draw games of late, Real Sociedad have a good record against teams below them in the table. I would back Real Sociedad for a win.
Real Sociedad tend to score more goals in the second half, while Osasuna have also conceded more during this period. Hence, I would back Real Sociedad to score in the second half.
