Real Sociedad preview
Real Sociedad were hammered last weekend by Deportivo La Coruna as they lost 5-1 away. The win helped Deportivo jump out of the relegation zone in emphatic fashion. The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute as Sidnei capitalised on a ball from a corner to score with a low finish. The lead was doubled 16 minutes later as Inigo Martinez’s failed clearance ended in the back of his own net. Florin Andone converted one more before the half-time to help Deportivo take an impressive lead at the break. Yuri Berchiche helped Sociedad pull one back in the 57th minute but former Liverpool man Ryan Babel helped Deportivo regain the lead in the 64th minute. Andone doubled his tally in the 77th minute to strike a heavy blow to the visitors. Sociedad have to bounce back quickly as they prepare to face Valencia this weekend.
Valencia are now without a win in their last six games following a 2-2 home draw against Malaga last weekend. Valencia are very close to the relegation zone following a poor start to the season and their problems increased when Pablo Fornals volleyed home in the third minute. Valencia created well, and it was Daniel Parejo’s cross which helped Rodrigo to head home and equalise for the hosts. Daniel Parejo’s impressive performances this season continue as he added another assist in the 34th minute when he helped Alvaro Medran score. The away side showed better display in the second half as they instigated multiple saves from Diego Alves but they were finally able to beat him in the stoppage time as Fornals added one more to his tally. Cesar Prandelli’s side have a lot to work on as they prepare for a tough match against Sociedad this weekend.
