Sparta Rotterdam vs ADO Den Haag Match Prediction
Sparta Rotterdam will look to get back to winning ways in the Eredivisie when they welcome ADO Den Haag at the Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel on Sunday at lunchtime. Sparta Rotterdam were beaten 3-1 on the road at Roda JC Kerkrade last time out, with their consolation goal being scored by Thomas Verhaar with just 13 minutes to go. On the flip side, ADO Den Haag managed a creditable 1-1 home draw against PSV Eindhoven thanks to a late equaliser from Mike Havenaar. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.
Betting Predictions and Tips
Sparta Rotterdam are in desperate need of points, but their recent form has been terrible. On the flip side, ADO Den Haag are undefeated in four league outings, including an impressive 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven. It’s difficult to predict the winner here, but I’m expecting a low-scoring affair as the previous two meetings between these two sides have seen just one goal scored.
Sparta Rotterdam Preview
Sparta Rotterdam have endured a terrible run of form over the past three weeks, having lost all of their last four games in the Eredivisie. Their sloppy defence has been the main reason for their recent struggle as they have conceded at least two goals in each of their most recent four Eredivisie fixtures. Actually, Sparta Rotterdam hold one of the worst defensive records in the division with 59 goals conceded in 31 league outings. The Rotterdammers currently sit in 16th position in the Eredivisie table tied on 28 points with the 17th-placed NEC Nijmegen, just two points of the 15th-placed Roda JC Kerkrade. The good news is that Sparta managed a decent tally of 38 goals this season, including seven from their topscorer Loris Brogno. Thomas Verhaar and Mathias Pogba have also enjoyed a decent campaign, as the pair bagged nine goals and one assist between them. Their recent home form has also been a problem as the Rotterdammers have only won two of their last ten home fixtures across all competitions, and are currently on a two-game losing streak. Furthermore, Sparta have only won once in their last five home meetings with ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie.
ADO Den Haag Preview
Meanwhile, ADO Den Haag have only lost once in their last eight games in the Eredivisie, and come into this clash on the back of a four-game unbeaten streak. After three consecutive wins over Roda JC Kerkrade, Willem II and FC Groningen, ADO managed to hold the reigning champions PSV Eindhoven to a 1-1 home draw. This leaves ADO in 12th spot in the standings tied on 32 points with the 13th-placed PEC Zwolle, already four points clear of the bottom three. Similar to their Sunday’s opponents, Den Haag have also struggled to keep the ball out of their own net throughout the season as they have one of the most leakiest defences in the division with 54 goals conceded in 31 rounds. Actually, ADO have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine league outings. On the road, ADO were winless in their last eleven competitive fixtures prior to their 1-2 victory at Willem II in their most recent league trip. Furthermore, ADO Den Haag have won three of their last five visits to the Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel, scoring at least two goals in each of these. Head-to-head, ADO are unbeaten in their last two meetings with Sparta Rotterdam, keeping a clean sheet in each of these.
