Paris Saint-Germain will be aiming to close the gap at the top of the Ligue 1 table when they welcome Toulouse at the Parc des Princes on Sunday night. Paris Saint-Germain managed a comfortable 0-3 win on the road at Bordeaux last time out in Ligue 1 thanks to a brace from Angel Di Maria and an early goal from Edinson Cavani. Meanwhile, Toulouse won 4-1 at home over SC Bastia thanks to a brace from Martin Braithwaite and two other goals from Andy Delort and Issa Diop. Paris Saint Germain Preview

Paris Saint-Germain have been amazing over the past two months, having won twelve and drawn once in their last 13 games across all competitions. They registered a comfortable 0-3 victory on the road at Bordeaux last time out in Ligue 1, but they produced an incredible performance on Tuesday winning 4-0 at home over Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. The Catalan giants had no response to Unai Emery’s men impeccable play, and Les Parisiens almost certainly booked their place in the final eight of the competition. PSG have looked very well-organized at both ends of the pitch over the past two months, scoring 41 goals and conceding just four in their last 13 games across all competitions. Despite this impeccable run of form, PSG are still in the second spot in the Ligue 1 table, just three points off the current leaders Monaco. Their solid back line has been PSG’s main reason for their good performances throughout this Ligue 1 campaign as they have the meanest defence in the division, conceding just 18 goals in 25 league fixtures. On home soil, Paris Saint-Germain are undefeated in their last 23 games across all competitions, conceding just eleven goals in this term.

Toulouse Preview

After a seven-game winless streak across all competitions between the middle of December 2016 to the end of January 2017, Toulouse managed to put their Ligue 1 campaign back on track recently. They enter the fray on the back of a three-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1, winning two and drawing once in the process. They looked very solid at both ends of the field in this term, scoring nine goals and conceding just two. They now sit in a respectable 9th position in the league table tied on 33 points with the 10th-placed Rennes, just seven points off the top four. Toulouse’s main issue throughout this Ligue 1 campaign has been their away form, as they picked up just eight points from their twelve away league fixtures. The worrying fact is that Toulouse have only scored five goals in their twelve league games away from home. Actually, Toulouse are currently on a nine-game winless streak across all competitions, losing six and drawing three in the process. Furthermore, Toulouse have suffered defeats in each of their last ten visits to the Parc des Princes, conceding at least two goals in nine of these. Martin Braithwaite is a player to watch here, as the 25-year-old striker is currently leading the club’s goalscoring charts with ten goals and three assists in his 22 league appearances.

Betting Predictions and Tips

I can’t expect another result than a PSG victory in this one as they have been impressive over the past few months, and they have also won the last ten home meetings with Toulouse in all competitions. I’m also backing PSG to keep a clean sheet in this one.
