Nancy vs SC Bastia Match Prediction
Nancy will be aiming to continue their good run of form across all competitions when they welcome SC Bastia at the Stade Marcel-Picot on Saturday evening in Ligue 1. Nancy managed a comfortable 0-2 win on the road against Nantes in Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday night thanks to two first-half goals from Maurice Dale and Joffrey Cuffaut. On the contrary, Nancy were thrashed 7-0 on the road at Paris Saint-Germain in Coupe de France at the weekend. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.
Nancy looked incredibly strong over the past three months, losing just three of their last 15 games across all competitions. The newcomers enter the fray on the back of a six-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, winning four and drawing twice in the process. They kicked off 2017 in fashion with a 0-3 win against Besancon FC in Coupe de France last weekend and a 0-2 away victory against Nantes in Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday. Nancy looked impeccable at the back during their recent run of form as they only conceded once in their last six games across all competitions. Overall, Nancy have kept eight clean sheets in their last eight games in all competitions. Nancy find themselves in 13th place in the Ligue 1 table tied on 21 points with the 12th-placed Lille, just two points clear of the relegation zone. Nancy’s main issue throughout this Ligue 1 campaign has been their inefficient attack as they hold one of the worst offensive records in the division, scoring just 15 goals in 19 league fixtures. Youssef Ait Bennasser has been Nancy’s most prolific player in front of goal this season, as the 20-year-old player is leading the club’s goalscoring charts with just 3 goals under his belt.
SC Bastia Preview
On the other hand, SC Bastia have struggled for consistency over the past three months, winning just three of their last 15 games across all competitions. Bastia ended 2016 with a 1-2 home defeat at the hands of Marseille in Ligue 1 and followed this up with a heavy 7-0 loss on the road against Paris Saint-Germain in Coupe de France. They were on a two-game winning streak in Ligue 1 prior to their defeat at the hands of Marseille. This leaves Bastia only in 14th place in the league table with 20 points under their belts after 19 rounds, just two points off the drop zone. Similar to their Saturday’s opponents, the Corsicans also struggled to find the back of the net throughout this Ligue 1 campaign, scoring just 17 goals in 19 league fixtures. Enzo Crivelli is a player to watch here, as the 21-year-old striker is currently leading the club’s goalscoring charts with 6 goals in his 14 league appearances. Bastia’s recent away form has also been an issue, as the Corsicans have only won once in their last nine away fixtures in all competitions while losing seven in the process. The good news is that Bastia picked up two wins in their three visits to the Stade Marcel-Picot, scoring two goals in each of these.
Nancy Team News
Youssef Ait Bennasser, Vincent Marchetti, Serge N’Guessan, Guy Roland N’dy Assembe and Benoit Pedretti are all doubts, while Erick Cabaco is out through suspension.
SC Bastia Team News
Sebastien Squillaci, Ismael Chester Diallo and Abdelhamid El Kaoutari are all out through injury, while Lassana Coulibaly, Jean-Louis Leca and Enzo Crivelli are all doubts. In addition, Gilles Cioni is missing through suspension. The good news is that Yannick Cahuzac and Farid Boulaya are both back in training.
Betting Predictions and Tips
Nancy have been near perfect over the past three months, so I’m expecting them to continue this good run of form and to grab another victory in this one. Nancy’s recent home form has seen them winning the last five games in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and conceding just two in the process. Meanwhile, Bastia have only won once in their last nine away games in all competitions and conceded 22 goals in this term. This having been said, I’m backing Nancy to win and to score at least two goals in this match.
