Minnesota United vs LA Galaxy Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Minnesota United came close to getting a surprise result away against Toronto, but a late goal saw the team suffer a 3-2 defeat. A penalty from Sebastian Giovinco and an own goal from Christian Ramirez provided Toronto with a lead twice in the game, but Kevin Molino was able to equalise the scores on both occasions. Tosaint Ricketts, though, managed to score the winner in the 77th minute. LA Galaxy ended a sequence of four winless games with a 3-1 victory over New York Red Bulls. Quick goals from Romain Alessandrini provided the away team with a 2-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Giovanni Dos Santos scored a penalty in the 78th minute, while Daniel Royer was able to grab a consolation for New York Red Bulls.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Minnesota United have been going through a resurgent spell at the TCF bank stadium after managing three wins in the last four matches. LA Galaxy produced a remarkable performance against New York Red Bulls to claim a 3-1 win, but their overall form remains mediocre with just one win in the last five games. Minnesota might just be able to take advantage of their home support to claim a win. All four away games for LA Galaxy have produced over 2.5 goals. Even though Minnesota have kept two clean sheets in the last three home games, the club come on the back of a high-scoring loss against Toronto. I would back this game to witness over 2.5 goals.

Minnesota United win – 7/5

Total goals over 2.5 – 4/7

Minnesota United Preview

Minnesota United seem to have found a reasonable patch of good form. Even though the team has suffered two defeats in the last five matches, they have been producing much improved performances in recent weeks. The revival has especially happened at the TCF bank stadium where the club has managed three wins in the last four games. On the road, though, the club’s struggles continue with three defeats in the last four, but they have been scoring with ease. Minnesota have scored eight goals in the last five away matches. Christian Ramirez is the club’s top scorer with six league goals.

Minnesota United Team News

Collin Martin (hip), Bernardo Anor (muscle), and Thomas de Villardi (Achilles tendon) are the players unavailable for Minnesota United.

LA Galaxy Preview

LA Galaxy finally produced a performance that their squad is capable of delivering on a regular basis. Manager Curt Onalfo will be hoping that 3-1 win over New York Red Bulls acts as a springboard for the club. While this game did not produce the club’s first away win of the season, it was easily LA Galaxy’s best performance in the 2017 MLS campaign. LA Galaxy have been languishing outside the play-off places in the Western Conference table largely because of a poor home form. The club has managed just one win at the Stubhub Center.

LA Galaxy Team News

Robbie Rogers (malleolar), Sebastien Lletget (foot), Jermaine Jones (ligament), and Clement Diop (hip) are the players unavailable for Curt Onalfo.
