Wolverhampton Wanderers vs West Ham United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Wolves managed to avoid a major FA Cup upset after a 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round of the competition. The hosts were able to get a 2-0 lead in the game thanks to goals from Greg Docherty and Luke Waterfall. However, Wolves were able to stage a remarkable comeback in the final 15 minutes following goals from Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty. West Ham had to suffer embarrassment at the hands of Wimbledon, who picked up a 4-2 victory to knockout the Hammers from the FA Cup. Wimbledon had a 3-0 lead just after the break following goals from Kwesi Appiah and Scott Wagstaff (2). West Ham tried to respond with goals from Lucas Perez and Felipe Anderson, but the game was put beyond doubt through a late goal from Toby Sibbick.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

West Ham are hoping to avoid a third successive away defeat and an away match against Wolves certainly does not guarantee an easy game for the club. The Hammers need to focus on a defence that has conceded multiple goals of late. Wolves might still play on the counter-attack but they have the capability to open up the opposition. I would back a victory for Wolves.

The two teams have a large amount of attacking talent at the disposal. After the conclusion of Arnautovic’s transfer talk, West Ham can get the head down and focus on the forthcoming matches. However, it is difficult to see the team shake off two very bad away results and focus on performing well at the Molineux Stadium. This match can end up producing goals at both ends.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Wolves have been one of the best teams over the last few weeks, but the complacency led to the Midlands outfit almost being knocked out of the FA Cup by a lower league opposition. As it stands, Wolves have to prepare for a string of tough matches over the coming weeks in order to try and ascertain a spot in the top half of the table. Few would have expected Wolves to be in the eighth place of the league table as the season approaches the business end. Nuno has been able to get this achievement whilst sticking with a trusted brand of football.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Willy Boly is the player suspended for the match with a red card.

West Ham United Preview

Pellegrini has been able to oversee a substantial improvement in West Ham’s position over the last couple of months, but inconsistencies continue to plague the Hammers. The back-to-back defeats for West Ham comes as a major disappointment, but the Hammers can at least look forward to the forthcoming matches now with the transfer situation surrounding Marko Arnautovic sorted out. The club are unlikely to make a large number of signings but there is a likelihood of adding John Fleck to the squad.

West Ham United Team News

West Ham are without Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles tendon), Carlos Sanchez (ligament), Winston Reid (ligament), Jack Wilshere (ankle), and Fabian Balbuena (knee) due to injuries.
