Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Millwall Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) game features two sides at opposite ends of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Wolves were held to a goalless draw at Griffin Park last time out in a game that they probably just about shaded in terms of scoring chances created but they did concede a share of the possession. Millwall will come back from the international break full of confidence following their last league game which was a 4-0 defeat of Norwich. The goals were spread around the team with one each for Lee Gregory, George Saville, Jed Wallace and Sam Hutchinson. These two sides have not met for a while but when they do Wolves tend to perform well losing just one of their last six. Each of the last two have produced goals with six netted in each with a 4-2 and a 3-3.

Betting Tips and Predictions

I think Wolves are deserved favourites but the price looks a little short for me as they have stuttered a little while confidence will be high among the Lions after their 4-0 victory over Norwich. Jed Wallace and George Saville have netted twice this season in the league and both go off at decent prices in the anytime scorer markets so both look worth a little play to find the back of the net.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

After three victories from their first three games in the league it has been a bit slower from Wolves who have taken a point from their last two. Three of their next four at home and they are against teams who are expected to struggle this season. The Black Country side have looked strong at the back so far, letting just four league goals in and keeping three clean-sheets. Going forward they have netted seven times with six different goalscorers. It was a quiet deadline day for Wolves who sold Nouha Dicko to Hull and let Jordan Graham go out on loan Fulham. They completed the loan signing of Alfred N’Diaye on a season long loan from Villarrreal

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Carl Ikeme (hamstring) is back in training while Kortney Hause (knock) is closing in on a return. Phil Ofosu-Ayeh (hip) and Helder Costa (ankle) are set to be missing for at least another few weeks.

Millwall Preview

Victory last time out was the first for the season for Millwall with two draws and two defeats from their other five. This marks the first of three away fixtures in their next four so that win came at the right time. The Lions have scored eight goals for the season but given they sit near the top of the chances created statistics they probably will be disappointed. In defence, they shipped six in their first three games but since then have kept two clean sheets in succession. It was a quiet deadline day for Millwall, who chose to do most of their transfer business in the earlier parts of the summer. Krystian Byroma joins after a trial but the 18-year-old is unlikely to feature in the first-team just yet.
