Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Wolves came extremely close to securing the first win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium but they were undone by a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw. Ivan Cavaleiro capitalised on Arsenal’s mistake to open the scoring in the 13th minute. Wolves came under pressure in the second half and they yielded in the 86th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross went untouched into the back of the net. Huddersfield were able to snatch a 1-1 draw with West Ham in their second consecutive home game. Alex Prichard’s sixth-minute goal seemed to give Huddersfield with a huge belief but West Ham’s repeated push for an equaliser succeeded in the 74th minute through Felipe Anderson.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Huddersfield will try to get at least a point from this game in order to keep the good run going. Wolves have been excellent this season and they have been the best among the three promoted teams – by a huge margin. Despite only managing two wins at home this season, Wolves have every reason to be confident ahead of this match. The team has enough strength going forward to expect a win but this will be a low scoring game – in line with Huddersfield’s biggest problem this season.

Even though Wolves have been able to play some exciting football this season, Nuno’s men have not been rewarded with goals. The likes of Jota are yet to open the scoring this season and Raul Jimenez has not set the scoring charts on fire – despite his strong performances. Yet, I would back Wolves to score over 1.5 goals considering the opposition’s quality.

Wolves win and under 2.5 goals – 15/8

Wolves to score over 1.5 goals – 4/5

Wolverhampton Wanderers saw over 1.5 goals in 9 out of their last 10 games played

Huddersfield Town have won 8 of their last 10 games played against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Nuno’s men continued to come up with a string of impressive performances and the draw with Arsenal may feel as a disappointment for the team considering that they came extremely close to a win. The ability to convert performances into results has been a problem with Wolves throughout the campaign. The focus over the next few weeks will be to get maximum points from winnable matches like against Cardiff and Newcastle. This will be crucial if Wolves are to stay clear of the drop zone during the business end of the campaign. Raul Jimenez has been particularly impressive for Wolves even if he has managed just three league goals so far.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Matt Doherty (broken cheekbone) and Johny (ligament) are the names unavailable for Wolves.

Huddersfield Town Preview

Huddersfield Town are finally showing signs of improvement as the run of two unbeaten games keeps them within touching distance of getting out of the bottom three. Huddersfield certainly face a mountain in the efforts to avoid the drop, as the poor start to the season means that the team has had to fight against opposition with low confidence. The recent two results will lift the mood around the club, although the international break may have come at the wrong time for the team. The lack of goals still remains the chief concern for the team.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Zanka is suspended for the game. Chris Lowe (shoulder) and Jonas Lossl (knock) are unavailable due to injuries.
