Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Burnley Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Wolves were able to get a deserved first win of the campaign, as they beat West Ham 1-0 at the London stadium. The game could have easily concluded at another stalemate for the visitors, but Adama Traore scored a deep into injury time to hand Wolves with the win. Burnley were unable to put much of an impact as they slipped to a 2-0 loss against Manchester United at home. Goals from Romelu Lukaku in the first half were able to help United to a comfortable win, even though they were reduced to 10 men in the second half when Marcus Rashford was sent off.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Burnley are at a grave disadvantage coming into this game in terms of form, location, and momentum. Wolves may have picked up just one win so far, but Nuno’s team have been one of the unlucky teams in the division so far. Home advantage coupled with the recent momentum from the win over West Ham is likely to push the hosts towards a win.

Wolves have been unable to keep a clean sheet at home this season with Manchester City and Everton scoring at the Molineux stadium. However, visitors have been quite poor in front of goal. Even though they have scored in four out of the last five games in all competitions, the tiredness has shown in recent matches. I would back a clean sheet for Wolves.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Wolves have been one of the best attacking teams in the Premier League and it is rather surprising that the club required an injury-time goal in order to secure their only win of the campaign. However, Nuno’s team can build on the victory to go on a run of wins – just as they did in the Championship last season. A favourable set of fixtures over the next five games also makes it important for Wolves to build on the win over West Ham. After having failed to keep a clean sheet in the first three matches of the campaign, Wolves have now picked up back-to-back shutouts with both coming away from home.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Dominic Iorfa (groin) and Ivan Cavaleiro (back) are unavailable for Wolves, while Raul Jimenez is doubtful with a muscle injury.

Burnley Preview

Burnley’s campaign is affected quite badly by the Europa League and manager Sean Dyche may be extremely pleased to have a fortnight to work with his players, who have not been involved in international duty, and try and recuperate their energy. It may be easier to freshen the energy levels within the squad, but it may be a more difficult task to try and build up the lost momentum and confidence. Burnley have lost four out of their last five games in all competitions and the club are yet to win any competitive match this season in normal time.

Burnley Team News

Nick Pope (dislocated shoulder), Ben Gibson (groin), and Stephen Ward (foot) are out while Johann Berg Gudmundsson is doubtful with a hamstring problem.
