West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

West Ham fell to a third consecutive loss as Arsenal beat the hammers 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Despite Marko Arnautovic providing a lead for the hammers inside the first half an hour, West Ham went on to concede through Nacho Monreal, Issa Diop (own goal), and Danny Welbeck. Wolves were able to get an impressive 1-1 draw with champions Manchester City at the Molineux Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s team hit the woodwork on numerous occasions but it was Willy Boly who provided the lead for the hosts just after the break. Aymeric Laporte’s bullet header from a set-piece situation pulled City back on level terms.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

West Ham are in a difficult situation with the team low on confidence whilst missing a number of key players ahead of this match. Wolves are coming into the game with confidence despite having failed to win a game so far. Even though Wolves produced a strong away performance against Leicester City, the club are unlikely to overcome West Ham’s determination to end poor start to the season. At the same time, West Ham may lack the quality necessary to get a victory and I would back a draw in this match.

The game is likely to overflow in terms of goals as West Ham have conceded nine goals – the joint worst defensive record alongside Huddersfield – in the first three matches while Wolves are capable of destroying any team on their day – as they showed against Manchester City during the weekend. I would pick over 2.5 goals in the match.

West Ham United Preview

Manuel Pellegrini is under a huge deal of pressure with West Ham being the only team yet to take any points this season. This is an abysmal situation for a club that came third in the list of highest net spenders in the summer transfer window. West Ham began the campaign with aspirations of qualifying for Europe but the main objective right now will be to get the first points under the belt. West Ham’s task is made complex by the absence of several key players for this match.

West Ham United Team News

Mark Noble (back), Marko Arnautovic (knee), and Michail Antonio (ankle) are doubtful for the game. Manuel Lanzini (cruciate ligament), Winston Reid (ligament), and Andrew Carroll (ankle) are certain to miss the match.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Wolves have been an impressive package so far in the Premier League 2018-19 campaign. Even though the team has been unable to pick up victories in the three matches so far, Nuno’s team have been able to impress in terms of going forward. The excitement offered by Wolves has already won a lot of fans, but it is about time Nuno’s team started converting their performances into victories. The club have placed themselves in a rather strong position to take on the September list of fixtures, which does possess a lot of winnable games for the newly promoted team.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Ivan Cavaleiro (back), Johny (cramps), and Dominic Iorfa (groin) are likely to miss the game due to injuries.
