West Ham United vs Watford Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

West Ham were able to make it four wins on the bounce after a 2-0 success over Fulham. Robert Snodgrass scored from the edge of the box with a fine effort in the 17th minute, while Michail Antonio was left unmarked for the second goal in the 29th minute. Fulham never recovered from these two early setbacks. Watford were able to come up with a strong performance to beat Cardiff 3-2 at home. Gerard Deulofeu’s opening goal in the first half was the only difference in the game before Cardiff collapsed in the second half to goals from Jose Holebas and Domingos Quina. An incredible sequence of two goals – through Junior Hoilett and Bobby Reid – in the space of two minutes led to Cardiff pushing for an undeserved equaliser towards the end.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Watford travel to the London Stadium after having recently suffered defeats on this ground. The Hornets are not strong on the road and they are up against a West Ham outfit that has been in breathtaking form of late. Even whilst missing a number of key first-team players, West Ham have been able to find a partnership that is capable of scoring goals from different situations. I would pick a win for West Ham.

The Hammers have been through a fine scoring form in recent weeks and they are up against a Watford outfit that have been creaking at the back. The Hornets have conceded 12 goals in the last six matches while Watford have managed the same number of goals at the other end. I would back West Ham to score over 1.5 goals at a very attractive price.

West Ham United Preview

Manuel Pellegrini attracted a lot of criticism in his first few matches as a West Ham manager, but the Chilean demanded patience back then. Now, the patience shown by the club and fans is being rewarded in style with West Ham becoming one of the form teams in the division. Apart from just picking up victories, West Ham have also delivered stylish football to the fans. West Ham have all the basis of a strong squad, but the return of players from injuries can pose a lot of issues for Pellegrini.

West Ham United Team News

Lucas Perez (foot), Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles tendon), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Marko Arnautovic (hamstring), Winston Reid (ligament), Ryan Fredericks (shin), Manuel Lanzini (cruciate ligament), and Carlos Sanchez (ligament) make up for a lengthy injury list.

Watford Preview

Javi Gracia was finally able to arrest an extended sequence of winless matches for his Watford outfit. This was threatening to undo the good work done by the club in the first few months of the season. Even though the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra have not been consistent enough, the Watford outfit will be pleased to stay in the top half of the table going into the Boxing Day fixtures.

Watford Team News

Adalberto Penaranda (foot), Younes Kaboul (broken foot), Pontus Dahlberg (head), Andre Gray (leg), and Will Hughes (hip) are unavailable for Watford.
