Betting Tips and Predictions

West Ham have been in dreadful form of late, but the strength of their squad suggests they shouldn’t continue in the same vein for too much longer. I’m expecting a West Ham win but for their defence to make this perhaps more difficult than it needs to be.

West Ham United Preview

In terms of worrying performances, West Ham’s defeat away to Newcastle prior to the international break must’ve been of real concern to manager Slaven Bilic, whose job is already believed to be under scrutiny at the club just three games into the season. Joselu opened the scoring before half-time, as Christian Atsu comfortably breezed past the Hammers defence before squaring for the Spaniard to finish. In the second half, Ciaran Clark rose highest when Matt Ritchie delivered into the area to double their lead, before Aleksandr Mitrovic added gloss to the scoreline late on. That result means West Ham have now conceded ten goals in their opening three matches and they come into this fixture 20th in the league. Equally, Javier Hernandez is the only player to score for the team so far this season, having netted twice in their 3-2 defeat away to Southampton. This will be their first home game of the season having played away three times on the trot due to the Athletics World Championship.

West Ham United Team News

Marko Arnautovic remains suspended for West Ham, while Winston Reid (calf), Manuel Lanzini (knee) and Andre Ayew (thigh) are all doubts. However, Andy Carroll (groin) could return.

Huddersfield Town Preview

Huddersfield could hardly have had a more contrasting start to the season as their opponents, despite seeing their 100% record evaporate during their 0-0 draw with Southampton. The Terriers enjoyed most of the games better chances, but Rajiv van la Parra, Steve Mounie and Elias Kachunga were all unable to convert in front of goal. Fraser Forster proved to be a stubborn block in their way, leaving them to settle for their first draw of the campaign. Although it didn’t bring the desired result, David Wagner’s side still maintained their perfect defensive record, with the team still yet to concede a goal in the Premier League this season. They now travel to their second away game of the campaign and their second in London, having stunned Crystal Palace with a 3-0 win on the opening day of the campaign. Such a positive start has seen expectations rise a level at the John Smith’s Stadium and they would now arguably be expected to get another result here this time around.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Martin Crainie, Collin Quaner (both knee) and Jonathan Hogg (ankle) are all unlikely to feature here. Jon Gorenc-Stankovic (cruciate ligament) is out until the New Year.
