West Bromwich Albion Preview

Brighton will have had West Brom circled as their first winnable home game of the new season and Tony Pulis’ side looked unprepared for what came their way from the Seagulls, who secured a 3-1 victory at the Amex Stadium last time out. Midfielder Pascal Gross proved to have the game’s telling contribution, as he scored twice, with the goals coming either side of half-time, to leave Chris Hughton’s men two goals to the good. Gross then crossed for Tomer Hemed who headed in at the near post to wrap up the win for Brighton, who were untroubled even when Baggies midfielder James Morrison netted a consolation thirteen minutes from time. It proved to be an unhappy debut in the end for loanee Grzegorz Krychowiak, who was a real coup of a signing on deadline day at The Hawthorns, coming to the club with real pedigree on the continental stage. The Baggies have taken four points from a possible six at home so far this term, facing Bournemouth and Stoke in their first two games, but ended last season with four successive 1-0 losses in front of their home supporters.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Hal Robson-Kanu will serve the final game of his suspension this weekend, while Gareth McAuley and Nacer Chadli are both doubts with thigh problems.

West Ham United Preview

Slaven Bilic saw his prayers answered at home to Huddersfield Town on Monday evening, as his West Ham side came away from their must-win fixture with the desired result. That’s not to say they didn’t do it with a huge slice of fortune, with Pedro Obiang’s opener taking a huge deflection on its way past Jonas Lossl in the Terriers’ net. Andre Ayew then reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box from a West Ham corner to poke in the decisive second goal, as the Hammers fought for a much-needed win following three defeats to open the campaign. Andy Carroll was absent from those opening three matches but made his first appearance of the season against Huddersfield last time out, as he looked to impose his physicality on the contest and impressed in doing so. Winning their first home game of the season could prove to massively important in the context of their season, following a difficult opening twelve months at the London Stadium. However, the task now becomes attempting to overturn a three-match losing streak away from home.

West Ham United Team News

Midfielders Mark Noble and Manuel Lanzini could both miss this contest, with both suffering from knee issues.
