Betting Tips and Predictions

Watford have been exceptional away from home this season, winning all three of their games so far. Pair that with West Brom’s inability to kill teams off of late, and I’m backing the Hornets to enjoy more away success this weekend.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

To say West Brom will have felt hard done by at the Emirates Stadium on Monday would be an understatement, after they went down 2-0 away to Arsenal. The Baggies felt they should’ve been awarded a penalty when Shkodran Mustafi brought down Jay Rodriguez, who returned to his feet before then striking the post. West Brom continued to have chances but fell a goal behind when Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick struck the crossbar and Alexandre Lacazette pounced on the rebound to head in. Lacazette then converted a second-half penalty to wrap up the victory for the Gunners, as West Brom made it five games without a win in all competitions - that after winning their first three on the bounce. Scoring goals has been an issue so far this season, with the team netting just three times in their opening three matches, failing to score more than once in any of their league outings so far this term. Gareth Barry broke Ryan Giggs’ record by becoming the player with the most Premier League appearances of all-time at the Emirates and is expected to continue in the team this weekend after having a positive impact since his arrival.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Oliver Burke (hamstring) is West Brom’s only injury concern ahead of this fixture.

Watford Preview

Watford’s incredible start to the season away from home continued at Swansea last time out, as they picked up another three points on the road to move up to 6th in the Premier League table. Marco Silva’s reputation in England is rising by the week it seems and he will have been delighted to have seen Andre Gray open the scoring in the 13th minute with his first goal for the club. It seemed as if the Hornets were to be punished for not scoring a second when Tammy Abraham pulled Swansea level, but Richarlison struck in the last minute of the game to snatch the three points for the away side. The result maintained Watford’s 100% start to the new Premier League season when playing away from Vicarage Road, having now overcome Bournemouth, Southampton and Swansea in their first three games. It speaks volumes to the start that Silva has made at his new club that Watford currently sit level on points with Tottenham and Liverpool heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures, although there is still room for improvement. Watford are yet to win a game at home, with two draws and one defeat from their first three games so far and have Arsenal as the next visitors next month.

Watford Team News

Both Craig Cathcart and Nathaniel Chalobah are ruled out with knee problems. Younes Kaboul (hamstring) and Sebastian Prodl (thigh) are doubtful.
