West Bromwich Albion vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides who are expected to be fighting it out at different ends of the table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. West Brom made it two wins in two this week as they defeated Luton 1-0 in the League Cup on Tuesday night. It followed hot on the heels of their 4-3 defeat of Norwich which came against the run of play and saw a brace for Jay Rodriguez. QPR picked up their first win of the season in the League Cup as they saw off Peterborough 2-0 in a game some were anticipating an upset in. They lost in the league going down 2-1 at home to Sheffield United. The last time these sides met was in April 2015 with QPR winning at the Hawthorns 4-1 in a Premier League encounter. It means the London outfit have won the last three meetings between the pair and not lost in four.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Given that the visitors beat three of the top four last season I think at these prices they look worth a go alongside the draw in the double chance market. West Brom rode their luck to beat Norwich last week and this could be just the type of game that suits Steve McClaren and his side. Toni Leistner failed to do the business for us last week but at the odds, I think the defender continues to look a great option especially as the time on the training will allow set-pieces to be developed for him.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

The Baggies have had a mixed start to life back in the Championship winning one, drawing one and losing the other. Each of their three in the league this season have seen both teams net. At the Hawthorns, they have scored exactly one goal in both games this season and each of their last three. Nine of the last 11 Albion have played in front of their own fans in the league have seen both teams score. Harvey Barnes and Jay Rodriguez have both grabbed two goals each in the league this season.  Four of the last six West Brom have netted this season have come in the final 30 minutes.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Craig Dawson (thigh) and Nacer Chadli (hamstring) are unlikely to feature here.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

The Rs lost their opening two league matches but will take heart from a League Cup victory in midweek. It means that five of their last seven have seen both teams score though the two that did not were the league fixtures this season. Away from Loftus Road, it is five without a victory though the two before that saw them pick up four points from trips to Fulham and Aston Villa. The London outfit have netted just once from their last five on the road. QPR beat three of the top four last season and will raise their game for the visit of West Brom. Five of their last six in the league including both this season have been level going into the break.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Sean Goss (back) and Darnell Furlong (knee) are both expected to miss out.
