Read on for a full match preview complete with betting tips and predictions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Pep Guardiola’s men have been in imperious form at this moment in time, while West Brom look extremely low on confidence. I’m expecting a City win, though not to be quite as convincing as has been the case in recent weeks.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

Manchester City relied on the virtue of a penalty shootout in order to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup in midweek, following a 0-0 draw at home to Championship side Wolves. Claudio Bravo proved to be the hero of the hour, making two penalty saves as Sergio Aguero won the contest with a Panenka penalty. With that result, it’s now 12 wins on the bounce for City, who also won 3-0 in their last Premier League contest against Burnley. Goals from Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi and Leroy Sane sealed another Premier League victory for Pep Guardiola’s team, who opened up a five-point gap at the top of the table following Manchester United’s shock 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town. City have a 100% record away from home so far this season, scoring az total of eleven goals from their four games, conceding just once. For all of their attacking flair and ability, the improvement of this team defensively has gone somewhat under the radar so far this term, with the Citizens boasting the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League alongside Manchester United after conceding just four goals.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Vincent Kompany (calf) is unlikely to be ready to return here. Benjamin Mendy (cruciate ligament) is out for the season.

Manchester City Preview

Tony Pulis needs a win and fast so it seems, after he once again witnessed his team come away without three points, this time coming following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium. Judging by the setup of the Baggies, it appeared they weren’t all that concerned about getting a victory, deploying a particularly defensive-looking side with the hope they might be able to snatch something on the break. With the game looking as if it would finish 0-0, the West Brom defence could do nothing to prevent Sofiane Boufal from scoring one of the goals of the season so far, as the Moroccan dribbled from his own half to the edge of the box before finding the corner of Ben Foster’s goal. As such, it’s now eight games in all competitions without a win for Pulis’ men, who have drawn four and lost four since a 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup on August 22. They have already faced Manchester City this season, doing so in the following round of the Carabao Cup, where they were eliminated following a 2-1 defeat at home. Now 13th in the Premier League table, they probably couldn’t have picked worse opponents to run into given their current vein of form.

Manchester City Team News

Craig Dawson (knee), Jonny Evans (groin) and Gareth Barry (back) will all hope to shake off knocks to feature this weekend. Oliver Burke (hamstring) could return.
