West Bromwich Albion vs Huddersfield Town Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

West Brom’s losing streak extended to 4 matches after a 2-1 loss against Southampton at home. The game started out with horrendous defensive mistakes leading to goals from Wesley Hoedt and Dusan Tadic. Despite pulling one goal back through Salomon Rondon in the 58th minute, West Brom were unable to achieve a comeback. Huddersfield Town were also knocked out of the FA Cup, as the team lost 2-0 against Manchester United at home. Romelu Lukaku scored both goals that led to Huddersfield’s exit from the competition.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The two teams headed into the game with a lot of struggles. Huddersfield have more to lose coming into the game, as they could slip back into the bottom three. Wagner will be keen to avoid this development, and Huddersfield will be quite happy with a draw. West Brom’s attack looks decent with Rondon coming up with goals in recent weeks, but they continue to struggle with a horrendous defensive line up. I would back a draw, as both teams are evenly matched. The game promises goals at both ends, as Pardew may be unable to mend the West Brom overnight. Huddersfield have been half decent in front of goal. Even with a lot of players unavailable due to injuries, Huddersfield can score due to the poor defence of the opposition. I would choose both teams to score.

Draw – 23/10

Both teams to score – 11/10

Huddersfield Town have conceeded only 4 goals in their last 5 games against West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion Preview

The possibility of West Brom coming up with a great escape now looks increasingly unlikely, as the team’s confidence from the extraordinary win over Liverpool seems to be slowly slipping away. Four consecutive defeats in all competitions is a direct show of the team’s fragile confidence. Alan Pardew has seen his team make too many mistakes at the back. It will be punished at this level of the game and West Brom have conceded at more than two goals per game in recent weeks. Goals from Salomon Rondon are the only hope, and the striker has four league goals so far this season.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Alan Pardew will be without James Morrison (Achilles tendon), Nacer Chadli (hip), Daniel Sturridge (hamstring), Jake Livermore (hamstring), and Hal Robson-Kanu (hamstring) due to injuries.

Huddersfield Town Preview

Huddersfield Town have been going through an immense run in recent weeks, but they are still in relegation trouble. Manager David Wagner will be aware that his team will have to pick up more than just seven league wins in order to get away from the drop zone for good. The one point advantage over Southampton places a lot of pressure on Huddersfield, who did finally end a disappointing run with a league victory against Bournemouth. There are signs of improvement from Huddersfield, but Wagner has to deal with a lot of injury problems coming into this match. Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounie have been able to top the charts at Huddersfield with five league goals.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Sean Scannell (shoulder), Aaron Mooy (knee), Michael Hefele (illness), and Elias Kachunga (ligament) are the players certainly ruled out of the game, while Tom Smith has been rated as doubtful with a concussion.
