West Bromwich Albion vs Brentford Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Monday evening (20:00) fixture features two sides in opposite halves of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

West Brom won their third straight game with a 2-1 victory at Swansea in midweek thanks to a couple of set piece goals. Craig Dawson and Ahmed Hagazi were the goalscorers as Albion claimed an undeserved three points.

Brentford lost their third straight as they suffered a 3-2 home loss to high-flying Sheffield United. Neal Maupay got one and they benefited from an own-goal but the Blades gained a well-deserved three points.

These two sides have not met since in over 80 years so it is hard to read anything into their previous head-to-heads.

Betting Tips and Predictions

It is hard to argue with the prices on offer here and if anything West Brom are the marginal value but I feel better value can be found in other markets.

Backing both teams to score is a little short but backing both teams to score in the first-half looks worth a small interest as both can fly out of the traps. This also leads to a small interest in the first 45 minutes producing over 1.5 goals.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

The Baggies have now won three straight and seemed to have found a formation to suit following a worrying run  four without a victory. They sat fourth going into the weekend and play four of their next six at their own place.

At the Hawthorns, they have won three of their last five and lost on just one occasion this season. Each of the last four the Black Country outfit have played in front of their own fans have seen both teams net.

3.58 goals per fixture means West Brom are the team to watch in the Championship for neutrals with 2.16 of those goals belonging to them. Harvey Barnes has two in his last three appearances.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Kyle Bartley and Bakary Sako (both knee) are doubts ahead of this fixture.

Brentford Preview

The Bees are struggling of late with three straight defeats and just one victory from their previous 12. A side who were one of the early favourites for promotion were 18th going into the weekend and have four of their next six on the road.

Away from Griffin Park, they are winless this season and have taken just two points from their last seven. Both teams to score has paid in five of the last six on the road for the London outfit.

3.05 goals per game suggests that Brentford are one of the more entertaining sides for neutrals with 1.58 of the goals belonging to them. Neal Maupay has two in his last three and 13 for the season.

They have no registered injuries or suspensions.
