Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Marco Silva, West Ham may well see this as a chance of causing somewhat of an upset. Add to that the impact of new manager David Moyes and I can see the Hammers getting a result here.

Watford Preview

After a blistering start to the campaign, Watford boss Marco Silva is now experiencing his first setback with the Hornets, with their 3-2 loss at Everton making it three defeats on the spin for the team. The manner of this most recent defeat will be most concerning to Silva, whose team were 2-0 ahead with 25 minutes remaining thanks to goals from Richarlison and Christian Kabasele. However, Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin dragged the hosts level, before a dramatic eight minutes of stoppage time saw Leighton Baines covert from the penalty spot and Tom Cleverley miss his own as Everton secured a huge fightback win. Silva’s ongoing association with the Everton job may in part be the reason for their recent slump in form, having failed to pick up a point since defeating Arsenal 2-1 at Vicarage Road in mid-October. Having spent all of the season near the top half of the Premier League table, another defeat here could see the Hornets drop to the bottom half for the first time this season. For all of the positives that have come from the early stages of the campaign, Watford have only won one of their five home games in the Premier League so far this season and will need to improve if they are to achieve a top-half finish.

Watford Team News

Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah (both knee) and Roberto Pereyra (hamstring) are all set to miss out here. Heurelho Gomes (head), Younes Kaboul (hamstring) and Isaac Success (leg) will be assessed.

West Ham United Preview

The Slaven Bilic era finally came to a close at the start of the international break as West Ham’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool brought an end to the Croatian’s stay at the London Stadium. The Hammers found themselves two goals down inside 24 minutes as Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip netted for the visitors, but did show an ounce of fight as Manuel Lanzini pulled one back at the start of the second half. However, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage just a minute later, as Salah added his second and Liverpool’s fourth to compound West Ham’s misery. West Ham are currently without a win in four Premier League games, last picking up three points at the end of September as David Moyes is now handed with the task of keeping the club in the top flight. It’s a do-or-die situation for the Scot, who has endured a tough time in management over the past four years with infamous spells at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland. Winning just one of their last thirteen away from home, Moyes has a huge job on his hand to ensure the Hammers are able to stay in the Premier League this term.

West Ham United Team News

James Collins (ankle) and Michail Antonio (rib) will hope to shake off knocks to be involved. Jose Fonte (ankle) and Javier Hernandez (hamstring) are both missing for this away trip.
