Watford vs Leicester City Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Watford welcome Leicester at the Vicarage Road Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, with both sides looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League. Watford suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat on the road at the newcomers Brighton at the weekend, in a game in which they had just one shot on target. Meanwhile, Leicester managed a creditable 2-2 home draw against Manchester United thanks to goals from Jamie vardy and Harry Maguire. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Leicester looked solid in their recent 2-2 home draw against Manchester United, while Watford have struggled of late and most of their key players are still on the sidelines with injuries. Leicester’s recent away form has been impressive and we fancy them to collect at least one point from this trip.

Watford Preview

Watford have only won twice in their last eleven games in the Premier League and head into this tie on the back of a six-game winless streak. They are currently on a four-game losing run, including a 1-0 defeat on the road at the newly-promoted Brighton at the weekend. Despite their recent poor form, Watford still sit 10th in the league table tied on 22 points with Huddersfield. Keeping the ball out of their own net has been Watford’s main problem throughout this Premier League campaign, as they hold the second worst defensive record in the division with 34 goals conceded in 19 rounds. At home, Watford have also been in poor shape this season, having won just twice in their last ten games across all competitions. The good news is that Watford managed to win on three occasions in their last five home meetings with Leicester across all competitions. Abdoulaye Doucoure is leading the club’s goalscoring charts with six goals under his belt, while Richarlison has helped the team with five goals and four assists.

Watford Team News

Isaac Success, Kiko, Miguel Britos, Will Hughes and Tommy Hoban are all doubts, while Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah and Younes Kaboul are all missing through injury. In addition, Troy Deeney is out through suspension.

Leicester City Preview

Leicester were on an impressive four-game winning streak in the Premier League between the end of November to the middle of December, but their recent form hasn’t been that god. They have lost 0-3 at home at the hands of Crystal Palace a fortnight ago and then they were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Manchester City. However, the Foxes managed a creditable a 2-2 home draw against Manchester United in the Premier League at the weekend, with Harry Maguire scoring the equalizer in the 94th minute. Leicester can count on their away form though, as they are undefeated in seven league trips, scoring at least once in six of these. Furthermore, Leicester looked incredibly solid in front of goal in their most recent two league away games in the Premier League, scoring seven goals in the process. In addition, Leicester have won two of their last three visits to Watford, keeping a clean sheet in each of these. Jamie Vardy is Leicester’s top scorer once again with eight goals under his belt after 19 league appearances.

Leicester City Team News

Danny Simpson is a doubt, while Daniel Amartey is missing through suspension. The good news is that Matthew James and Robert Huth are both back in training.
