Watford vs Huddersfield Town Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Watford came up with a solid display to beat Wolves 2-0 on their home patch. Etienne Capoue’s laser strike broke the deadlock after 20 minutes and Watford found themselves 2-0 up less than a minute later after Roberto Pereyra fine left-footed finish. Huddersfield Town’s wait for a league win continues after a narrow 1-0 loss against Liverpool. Mohamed Salah’s finish in the 24th minute was the only difference between the two teams as Huddersfield huffed and puffed without a goal.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Huddersfield have been able to get three consecutive wins over Watford but they travel to Vicarage Road with a spot of bother. The Hornets were quite impressive in the win over Wolves and they are aiming to make a return to winning ways at home after losing back-to-back games. Watford’s recent slump in form has to do a lot with the quality of the opposition, as Javi Garcia’s men have done well against teams in the bottom half of the table. I would opt for a home win.

Huddersfield may have come up with the lowest goal tally in the league but they have scored in each of the away games this season. They are up against a Watford team that were solid defensively against Wolves but they have conceded in the last four home games. I would opt for both teams score.

Watford Preview

Watford were able to break a spell of games without a victory with an impressive away performance against Wolves. It was impressive of the Hornets to come back from an international break and still perform at a very high level. Despite a lengthy injury list, Javi Garcia will be hoping to pull together such performances in the hope of building a healthy lead over teams in the bottom half of the table. Watford are up against teams in the bottom five places in the next three league outings and they do not face a top opposition until after the next international break. The Hornets are just one point away from the top six following an impressive start to the campaign. Roberto Pereyra is Watford’s top scorer with four league goals.

Watford Team News

Daryl Janmaat (meniscus), Troy Deeney (hamstring), Tom Cleverley (Achilles tendon), Nathaniel Chalobah (knee), Younes Kaboul (foot), Stefano Okaka (knock), and Sebastian Prodl (muscle) constitute a lengthy injury list for Javi Garcia.

Huddersfield Town Preview

David Wagner saw his Huddersfield Town come up with a battling performance against Liverpool but it was a familiar story after 90 minutes. Huddersfield have been the lowest scorers in the division after only managing four league goals. There were certain positive moments against Liverpool and Huddersfield need to keep working hard in order to get anything out of this campaign. An improvement for Huddersfield has been conceding over 2.5 goals only once in the last five games and Liverpool were not given much of a look at goal in the recent match. Laurent Depoitre’s physical presence is key for Huddersfield if they are to get anything out of this campaign.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Terence Kongolo (hamstring), Tom Smith (groin), and Collin Quaner (knock) are unavailable due to injuries.
