Watford vs Everton Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Watford were able to snatch a point at the AMEX Stadium after a goalless draw with Brighton during the weekend. There were little opportunities for Watford going forward, but they were saved by a remarkable performance from Ben Foster, who was able to save almost every shot that came his way with aplomb. Everton lost for a fourth time in five matches after a 2-0 loss against Manchester City at Goodison Park. Aymeric Laporte came up with the opener just before the break when Gabriel Jesus scored deep into injury time to make it a comfortable win for the visitors.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Everton have been through a disastrous run for the last few weeks. The club travel to Vicarage Road looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat on this ground, but there is a higher likelihood of witnessing a home victory. Watford have been doing well of late and the team has lost only once in the recent four games at home. Even though a number of key players are unavailable due to injuries, Watford are my pick to win the match.

Everton are among the lowest ranking teams on the form table after only managing six points from their last six matches. The home team, though, are not great in front of goal with only Cardiff City and Huddersfield conceding more than 2.5 goals. Even with Everton’s poor form, Watford are unlikely to score much. At the same time, Watford are also likely to concede with Sigurdsson capable of stretching any defence.

Watford Preview

Watford have been performing quite well over the last few weeks and the club would not be surprised to see themselves in the battle for a seventh spot. Even though Wolves have the current advantage due to a four-point advantage over Watford, the Hornets have been much more consistent over the last few weeks. Watford do have a small bunch of important players for the team and a drop in form for the likes of Roberto Pereyra or the unavailability of Doucoure can have a significant impact. Troy Deeney has been able to get some regular gametime of late, but the big forward is yet to hit a good scoring form this season.

Watford Team News

Abdoulaye Doucoure (knee), Kiko (hamstring), Roberto Pereyra (calf), and Isaac Success (hamstring) are unavailable for Watford.

Everton Preview

Marco Silva is coming under a lot of pressure with questions about his future cropping up after a string of poor results. The last 12 matches for Everton in all competitions have witnessed eight defeats and it is not to be expected from a team that had European ambitions at the start of the campaign. Everton were also quite disappointed with the kind of investment in the January transfer window, as a number of players departed from the club on loan deals without any arrivals. Everton may remain in the top half of the table coming into the game, but the situation is precarious for the blues.

Everton Team News

Yerry Mina (foot), Phil Jagielka (knock), and Leighton Baines (rib) are unavailable for Everton.
