Arsenal came back refreshed and rejuvenated from the last international break and I’m expecting them to do the same here, although they will face a tough task in Watford.

Watford Preview

Marco Silva’s Watford showed yet another side of strength to their arsenal at West Brom last weekend - proving they have the ability to respond in the face of adversity after drawing 2-2 with the Baggies. It proved to be an extremely poor start to the game for the Hornets, who found themselves two goals behind after 20 minutes of the game. Both Salomon Rondon and Jonny Evans struck for the home side, although Abdoulaye Doucoure made it 2-1 before half-time. Then, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Brazilian Richarlison scored a late goal away from home for the second week running, with his goals now having earned his team three points in the last two games. Silva has arguably been the manager of the season so far in the Premier League, guiding Watford to 8th after seven matches following their 17th place finish last season under the guidance of Walter Mazzarri. His sheer enthusiasm has had an infectious effect on this team who, it seems, are currently playing at a level better than the sum of their parts. That said, they have struggled at home so far this season, coming into this game without a win in their first three league games at Vicarage Road following two draws and a defeat.

Watford Team News

Younes Kaboul (hamstring), Craig Cathcart and Nathaniel Chalobah (both knee) are both ruled out for Watford this weekend.

Arsenal Preview

It was a far from inspirational performance, but Arsenal would likely take such displays in return for three points following their 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at home two weekends ago. The most unlikely of scorers put the Gunners in front, with Nacho Monreal drilling in the opener from the edge of the box on 16 minutes. Alex Iwobi made it 2-0 in the second half, as Arsene Wenger saw his side see out another relatively comfortable victory at home in the Premier League. Ever since being thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool back in August, Arsenal have since gone seven games unbeaten in all competitions - winning six and drawing one - and have climbed back up to 5th in the table as a result. Maximum points will almost certainly be targeted from their next three fixtures as they faced Watford, Everton and Swansea, particularly when taking into account that Manchester City and Tottenham follow in back-to-back games. Despite their recent upturn in form, Arsenal are still searching for their first away win this season in the Premier League, having failed to secure victories at Stoke, Liverpool and Chelsea so far.

Arsenal Team News

Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Laurent Koscielny and Santi Cazorla (both achilles) are all set to miss out for the Gunners. Mesut Ozil (knee) is a doubt, as is Danny Welbeck (groin).
