Villarreal vs Levante Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Villarreal come on the back of a remarkable victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 1-0 victory came about as a result of an 87th minute goal from Pablo Fornals. Real Madrid went close on a few occasions, but Villarreal were largely comfortable throughout the game. Levante fell to a third consecutive loss after being beaten 1-0 at home by Celta de Vigo. Pione Sisto’s first-half goal was the only difference between the two teams, although Levante did go close on a couple of occasions.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Cedric Bakambu’s departure from Villarreal significantly weakens the team ahead of this match. Carlos Bacca is also unavailable for the game due to a suspension. Surprisingly, Levante have fared well on the road with just one defeat since October – even this loss came against table leaders Barcelona. Villarreal are expected to have a tough time in this match, and a draw seems the likely bet.

The feature of most Levante matches has been the lower turnaround of goals. The absence of the Bakambu and Bacca – players who have contributed more than 50% of Villarreal’s league goals – will hurt the total number of goals in this game. Levante are not the greatest scoring outfit and have managed only one goal in the last five. I would opt for under 2.5 goals.

Draw – 7/2

Total goals under 2.5 – 19/20

Villarreal have conceeded only 4 goals in their last 10 games against Levante

Levante saw over 1.5 goals in 9 out of their last 10 games played

Villarreal Preview

Villarreal have been able to get some outstanding results – especially in the last couple of away matches. Just when it seemed that Villarreal may struggle to build on the other victory over Valencia, the Yellow Submarines were able to pick up a victory over defending champions Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Now, the team prepares for a run of three home matches in the next four. Villarreal’s home form has been good until the last couple of matches, but they are now winless in the last three La Liga games at the La Ceramica. The departure of Cedric Bakambu is a huge blow for the team.

Villarreal Team News

Carlos Bacca is the only Villarreal player suspended for the match, while Leonardo Suarez (cruciate ligament), Andres Fernandez (cruciate ligament), Roberto Soriano (knee), Nicola Sansone (calf), and Ruben Semedo (thigh) are the names unavailable for Villarreal.

Levante Preview

Levante have been displaying plenty of positive attributes up until now, but the string of three defeats has taken the wind out of the team. The club are sitting just two points above the drop zone. The club have also lost Enes Unal in the transfer window, while they are yet to bring in anyone substantial ahead of this match. Levante’s major problem has been scoring goals and Enes Unal’s departure has made the situation even more complicated by coming in with a few spirited performances since returning to Villarreal. A measure of the goalscoring problems for Levante is their return of just one goal in the last six league matches. Jose Luis Morales and Enis Bardhi are the top scorers with four goals each.

Levante Team News

Ivan Lopez (cruciate ligament), Alex Alegria (cruciate ligament), Roger Marti Salvador (cruciate ligament), Antonio Garcia Tono (muscle), and Raul Fernandez (hip) are the players unavailable for Levante manager Juan Muniz.
