Valencia vs Real Betis Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Valencia’s three-game winning sequence ended with a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames. Even though the Champions League-chasing outfit took the lead in the 23rd minute through Geoffrey Kondogbia, Bilbao were able to pick their opponents with an early second-half goal – through Oscar De Marcos. Real Betis failed to capitalise on home advantage and ended up drawing 0-0 with Real Sociedad in the midweek action. Both teams had an even share of the possession and chances, but the opportunities were not great for both outfits.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Real Betis travel to the Mestalla after having avoided defeat in the last two trips to this ground, while they were even able to get a win in the last visit. Valencia have the third best home record this season. Even though Real Betis have four wins in the last five away matches, the quality of the opposition in those victories is not comparable to the quality possessed by Valencia. I would go with a win for Valencia. The game against Real Sociedad saw Real Betis have real difficulties in terms of creating quality chances. This Valencia team have had a difficult run in terms of clean sheets, as their last shutout came in the second week of January – against a struggling Las Palmas outfit. Even after seeing Real Betis struggle in the last match, I would back both teams to score.

Valencia win – 4/9

Both teams to score – 4/7

Real Betis have not conceded a goal in 60% of their last 10 games played

Valencia Preview

Valencia are likely to be disappointed with the draw against Athletic Bilbao, as a win would have kept the club 10 points ahead of Sevilla. Even though the fourth-placed team in the La Liga will now reach the Champions League group stages directly without any qualifiers, Valencia will have a lot of motivation to keep their good run going; Valencia could potentially finish ahead of Real Madrid, who are now just one point ahead. There is a possibility of Valencia reclaiming the third place by the end of this weekend. Despite forward Simone Zaza not finding the back of the net in his last 14 games, Santi Mina has softened the blow. The 22-year-old has 14 goals this season.

Valencia Team News

Marcelino has no injury or suspension problems coming into this game.

Real Betis Preview

Real Betis have been on such a good run of form over the last few weeks that even a top six position does not seem to be far away. Real Betis will be aware of teams like Sevilla and Villarreal dropping points consistently over the last two months. After having excelled in the last few weeks, Real Betis are now just four points behind Villarreal in the sixth place. Even though Real Betis have been picking up a large number of points in recent weeks, the team has been let down by a defence that has conceded almost 1.5 goals per match. Sergio Leon is the leading scorer for Beticos with 10 goals in all competitions.

Real Betis Team News

Zouhair Feddal (Achilles tendon) and Antonio Sanabria (meniscus) are the long-term injury casualties, while Andres Guardado is doubtful for the game.
