Valencia vs Levante Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Valencia’s poor run extended further after a 1-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. Marcelino’s team came into the game desperate to break a run of defeats, and the team did pretty well up until the 59th minute when Angel Correa smashed an unstoppable effort past goalkeeper Neto. Meanwhile, Levante picked up a late point against defending European champions Real Madrid. Emmanuel Boetang scored in the 42nd minute to cancel out Sergio Ramos’ early opener, but Isco appeared to have done enough to give Real Madrid a victory. Giampaolo Pazzini had other ideas after coming up with an 89th minute equaliser.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Despite a poor run of form, Valencia have been able to score more than 1.5 goals in three out of the last four matches at the Mestalla. Levante have an identical record in terms of conceding goals in the last four away games. The lack of defensive form means that Valencia have conceded at least a goal in each of the last seven games in all competitions. I would back this game to witness goals at both ends. Apart from two encounters, the last six games between these two clubs at the Mestalla has ended up being a high-scoring affair with some games even producing more than 3.5 goals. Due to Levante’s adventurous nature and the lack of form within Valencia, I would choose over 2.5 goals in the game.

Valencia Preview

Valencia have been hitting new lows in recent weeks, but the team has been able to sustain their place in the top three owing to Real Madrid going through their own set of troubles. Valencia have lost three consecutive league matches, but there have been more defeats if the Copa del Rey games are taken into account. Yet, the club has the possibility to get back to winning ways in the next couple of matches, as games against Levante, Malaga, and Real Sociedad look winnable. After having conceded at an average of one goal per match in the first 16 league games, Valencia have almost doubled this figure over the last six. Simone Zaza remains as the club’s top scorer with 10 league goals.

Valencia Team News

Andreas Pereira (thigh) is the only injury worry for Marcelino.

Levante Preview

Levante remain very close to the bottom three of the La Liga 2017-18 table, and it is largely down to a run of just one win since December. This solitary victory came in a surprising manner Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium, but manager Muniz has enough reason to be happy with his team picking points against the top outfits like Sevilla and Real Madrid. The 3-0 defeat against Barcelona is the biggest defeat for the club in 12 games across all competitions. Despite being in a relegation battle, Levante have conceded just 32 goals in the 22 games. José Luis Morales, Ivi Lopez, and Enis Bardhi are the top scorers with four goals each.

Levante Team News

Raul Fernandez (hip), Jefferson Lerma (hamstring), Alex Alegria (cruciate ligament), and Ivan Lopez (cruciate ligament) constitute the injury worries for Levante manager Juan Muniz.
