Valencia vs Leganes Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Valencia kept pace with Barcelona at the top after a 2-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves. The intense pressing style football employed by Marcelino led to Valencia’s opening goal in the 34th minute – through Simone Zaza. Alexis, though, equalised for Alaves just a few minutes into the second-half, but Rodrigo’s penalty but Valencia back in front. Leganes’ excellent run of results came to an end with the team losing 2-1 against Sevilla. Wissam Ben Yedder returned to form with the opening goal of the game, while Leganes came back through Alexander Szymanowski’s 48th minute penalty. Pablo Sarabia scored just six minutes later to put Sevilla back in front. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Valencia have won all games against Leganes in the past, while they come into the game on the back of a spectacular run of form in recent weeks. Valencia are only four points behind Barcelona, while they have been able to open up a four-point advantage over the two met it comes. Even though Leganes have also been on an amazing run of form, their confidence would have taken a hit with the loss against Sevilla. The game against Valencia is an even bigger test. I would go with a win for Valencia. Simone Zaza has been able to score in his last six appearances. After having had a slow start to his 2017-18 season, the amazing run of form shown by the Italian forward has been quite strong. I would consider backing Simone Zaza to score anytime in the game.

Valencia win – 1/2
Simone Zaza to score anytime – 16/13

Valencia Preview

Valencia have been the form team in the division by a considerable margin and they have taken the most number of points in the last six matches. Even Barcelona trail Valencia in the form table with 16 points in the last six compared to the 18 point tally for Marcelino’s team. The incredible run of form has made Valencia a realistic title contender, and this expectation has also grown with Real Madrid struggling so far this season. The exciting and attacking brand of football employed by Marcelino has already won a lot of plaudits, although it would be interesting to see the team’s energy levels in the second stage of the season. For now, the club have been scoring plenty of goals and Simone Zaza is the leading scorer with nine goals.

Valencia Team News

Javier Jimenez (cruciate ligament) is the only player on the sidelines for Valencia.

Leganes Preview

Leganes have been going through a splendid run of form up until now, but the club are set to face a true test of their excellent start to the season. The club will be facing Valencia, Barcelona, and Villarreal in the next four league matches. After suffering a defeat against Sevilla, confidence levels will be low within Leganes while approaching these matches. So far this season, however, Leganes have been a breath of fresh air after managing to get a consistent set of results. Claudio Beauvue, Alexander Szymanowski, and Gabriel Pires are the players unavailable for Leganes.

Leganes Team News

Serantes (shoulder), Julian Ramos (thigh), and Ezequiel Munoz (back) are the players unavailable for Leganes.
