Valencia vs Deportivo Alaves Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Valencia moved a step closer towards cementing their top four position after a 2-0 win over Sevilla. Rodrigo Moreno came up with goals in both halves to end the resistance from Sevilla, who certainly were distracted by the midweek match against Manchester United in the Champions League. Deportivo Alaves lost for a second consecutive game as Real Betis picked up a 3-1 win at the Mendizorrotza. Loren Moron came up with a brace by capitalising on Alaves’ poor backline, while Javi Garcia scored the other goal for Real Betis. Ruben Sobrino’s fine run and finish in the 67th minute did provide hope for Alaves.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Valencia have been winning at half-time/full-time in three out of the last six matches while Alaves have similarly been in a losing position during the same period. Valencia are extremely strong at home and it is difficult to look beyond the home win. I would opt for a win at half-time and full-time for Valencia.

Valencia are aiming for a fourth consecutive win over Alaves in all competitions. Incredibly, all three wins for Valencia have been with a 2-1 score. In fact, all of the last five games between these two teams have been with this score. This provides a strong basis to expect over 2.5 goals in this match. Valencia have also been decent going forward as the club has learnt to cope with the absence of Santi Mina. I would back over 2.5 goals in this game.

Valencia Preview

Valencia are back in the reckoning for a top four finish. The impressive win over Sevilla moved the club a step closer towards securing the Champions League berth for next season. The nine-point advantage over Sevilla now looks quite substantial – even with ten matches left in the campaign. After having been highly consistent – even with a young squad, it would have been tough on Valencia if the club had been swept out of the top four. Now, the team can look forward to finishing the campaign in a strong manner and building for next season. Rodrigo Moreno is now the top scorer at Valencia with 12 league goals – one more than Simone Zaza and Santi Mina.

Valencia Team News

Geoffrey Kondogbia (hamstring) and Santi Mina (thigh) are the Valencia players unavailable for action.

Deportivo Alaves Preview

Deportivo Alaves are taking their foot off the gas pedal after moving closer towards safety. Despite having just 31 points – at least nine away from the psychological figure of 40, Alaves can rest for the next few weeks safe in the knowledge that Levante and Las Palmas have to pick up a couple of wins just to get close in the table. Alaves have a slightly difficult run to end the campaign with away matches against the likes of Valencia and Espanyol coming up in the next few weeks.

Deportivo Alaves Team News

John Guidetti (back) and Carlos Martin Vigaray (knee) are the names unavailable for Alaves.
