Tottenham Hotspur vs Watford Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Tottenham’s disappointing form hit a new low with the team losing 2-1 against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final. Despite taking the lead just 11 minutes into the game, Spurs were unable to hold on to this advantage. Alexis Sanchez was able to cancel out the Dele Alli’s opener, while Romelu Lukaku scored in the second half to complete the comeback. Watford continued to go through a winless run after only managing a goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road. Despite a few opportunities in the game, Watford were unable to find a way past Palace in the 90 minutes.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Watford travel to North London in order to take on a Tottenham team, which is aiming for a sixth consecutive win. However, the motivation levels for Watford are quite low considering that the team has been able to achieve safety several weeks ago. It is not surprising that Watford are now six games without a win. The Hornets have been losing at half-time and full-time in four out of the last six away games, whereas Spurs have been in a winning position in three out of their last six home games. I would back a win at half-time and full-time for Spurs.

Harry Kane has been heavily criticised for his lack of goals and form over the last few weeks, but the England international has always been a player who has risen up to that criticism. He has scored against Watford in the past and appears to be a great pick to score the first goal in this game.

Tottenham win at half-time and full-time – 8/15

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham’s season has hit a new low after the loss against Manchester United. There was a growing sense of disbelief when it came to Spurs’ ability to claim success in cup competitions. Frequent semi-final or final exits have led to suggestions about Tottenham being chokers when it came to the big competitions. The loss against United further strengthens this belief and Mauricio Pochettino’s men have to perform rather well in order to overcome this opinion. Spurs, though, remain in a strong position as far as finishing in the top four is concerned – even after seeing their lead over Chelsea drop down to 5 points.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Harry Winks (ankle) and Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring) are the two injury concerns for Tottenham.

Watford Preview

The lack of wins is unlikely to pose much of an issue for the Hornets, as they have been able to secure safety several weeks before causing any nervousness within the team. Watford are nine points ahead of the bottom three with three games left. Even a point against Spurs will be able to ensure mathematical safety. Watford are finding it difficult to overcome a lengthy injury list with the likes of Tom Cleverley and Troy Deeney spending time on the sidelines. This, however, could change in the coming few weeks.

Watford Team News

Tom Cleverley (hamstring), Tommy Hoban (cruciate ligament), Roberto Pereyra (groin), and Gerard Deulofeu (foot), Stefano Okaka (thigh), and Sebastian Prodl (stomach) are missing from action for Watford.
