Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Tottenham had to work hard in order to secure a 1-0 win over Newcastle last weekend. Spurs were unsuccessful at breaking down a stubborn Newcastle defence for long periods of the game, but Son Heung-Min once again came up with a decisive goal late in the match to hand three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Leicester City were undone by a moment of madness that resulted in a 1-0 defeat against Manchester United at home. Ricardo Pereira’s pitiful pass was intercepted by Paul Pogba, who released Marcus Rashford for the only goal of the game in the ninth minute.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Leicester have been playing some excellent football of late even if they haven’t been unable to get positive results. The Foxes are in danger of losing three consecutive matches against Spurs, but they have won away against this team in the past. Tottenham do not have a great home record when it comes to matches against Leicester and their recent form is also not up to the mark. I would opt for a draw.

The Leicester outfit have imposed a strong presence going forward and the team has been unable to score in just two out of the last 10 matches in all competitions. Spurs have been offensively poor in the absence of Harry Kane and Dele Alli. Their defence has been able to register clean sheets only when not put under pressure.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs have been able to pick up some impressive victories even when the club has not been without key players like Dele Alli and Harry Kane. Spurs have struggled to get victories against Watford and Newcastle – despite playing at home. However, these are excellent results for the club in the context of the whole campaign and it also puts them in a strong position going into the Champions League knockout stages. The return of Harry Kane should be a major boost for Spurs, who are expected to get the striker back in time by the end of this month. The England international remains a challenging position for the Golden Boot title after managing 14 goals so far this season.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Eric Dier (virus) and Vincent Janssen (knee) are missing from action for Spurs.

Leicester City Preview

Leicester have been winless in the last five matches and it is major blow for a team that looked in a great shape heading into 2019. The Foxes have been guilty of translating their excellent performances in the result, as they have played some brilliant football against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United. Claude Puel will undoubtedly face criticism for some of the defensive tactics employed by the team and it is especially likely when the team has been unable to get results. The Foxes have a difficult run of games coming up with rivals like Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Watford having the potential to send Leicester deep into the bottom half of the table.

Leicester City Team News

Daniel Amartey (broken ankle) and Marc Albrighton (hamstring) are unavailable for the Foxes.
