Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to continue their push for a top four finish in the Premier League when they welcome the newcomers Brighton at the Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night. Tottenham managed a comfortable 5-1 home victory over Stoke City at the weekend thanks to a brace from Harry Kane, two goals from Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen along with an own goal from Ryan Shawcross. On the other hand, Brighton lost 2-0 on the road at fellow newcomers Huddersfield, with Chris Hughton’s men conceding two first-half goals. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

This should be another comfortable home win for Spurs after they demolished Stoke City 5-1 at home at the weekend. I also expect Tottenham to keep a clean sheet, as Brighton have failed to score in seven of their last ten away games across all competitions. On the flip side, Tottenham have only conceded six goals in eight home league games.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

After a mini slump in form towards the end of November, Tottenham bounced back with two consecutive wins over APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League and Stoke City in the Premier League last weekend. Spurs have topped their Champions League group and they will now take on Juventus in the round of 16, with the first leg being played in Italy on February 13 2018. This means that Spurs can now focus only on their Premier League campaign, as they are already seven points of the second-placed Manchester United. However, they are just two points adrift of the 4th-placed Liverpool. Spurs looked decent at the back throughout this Premier League campaign, having conceded just 14 goals in 16 rounds. At the other end of the field, they managed 28 goals so far this season, including 12 from their top scorer Harry Kane. Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min have also been decent this season, as the pair bagged eight goals and four assists between them. Tottenham should feel confident ahead of this clash as they have only lost twice in their 13 home competitive fixtures this season. In addition, Spurs have won their two home meetings with Brighton across all competitions, scoring four goals and conceding just once in this term.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Victor Wanyama is back in training following his knee injury, but Toby Alderweireld is still out through injury. In addition, Davins Sanchez is suspended.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Meanwhile, Brighton have endured a mixed run of form throughout this Premier League campaign, registering four wins, five draws and seven defeats in their 16 league outings. They have only collected 17 points so far and are now just four points clear of the relegation zone. The Seagulls have struggled to find the back of the net throughout the season. They hold one of the worst attacking records in the division, scoring just 14 goals in 16 league fixtures. Glenn Murray is the team’s top scorer with 5 goals under his belt, while Pascal Gross has helped the team with three goals and five assists. Away from home, Brighton have only won two of their nine away games across all competitions this season. The most worrying fact is that the Seagulls have failed to score in seven of their last ten away games across all competitions. Actually, they have only scored five goals in eight league trips so far this season. Head-to-head, Brighton have lost all their three meetings with Spurs across all competitions, conceding at least two goals in each of these.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Steve Sidwell and Jonah Ayunga are both doubts ahead of this trip.
