This appears to be exactly the sort of game the home team needs to boost their confidence and Mauricio Pochettino could use it to play some players into form. I’m going for a home win. Tottenham HT-FT - 8/11 Heung-Min Son to score anytime - 11/8

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Mauricio Pochettino needs to find a way of getting his Tottenham team out of this slump and fast, as they laboured to a 1-1 draw away to Watford on Saturday in the Premier League. Christian Kabasele headed Watford in front after just 13 minutes, but they drew themselves level twelve minutes later as Heung-Min Son tapped in from close range from Christian Eriksen’s low cross. Davinson Sanchez was sent off in the second half for an adjudged elbow on Watford forward Richarlison, as another below-par performance saw them come away without the three points once again. It’s now just one win in five in all competitions for Spurs, while their Premier League form is all the more worrying with just one win in their last six. It has left them four points adrift of the top four and short on form and confidence alike, taking five points from a possible 18. Despite qualifying with two games to spare, Pochettino named a strong side in Dortmund on matchday five and may well look to do the same again, with a number of his key players in need of a confidence boost. Dele Alli has especially struggled to make an impact in recent weeks and may be included this midweek.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) is ruled out, but Victor Wanyama (knee) is close to returning to action.

APOEL Nicosia Preview

APOEL Nicosia maintained their recent excellent domestic form at the weekend after securing a 2-1 victory over Ermis at the NEO GSP. Forward Lorenzo Ebecilio put them in front five minutes into the first half, though Ermis were level just a minute later through defender Aleksandar Damcevski. Then, ten minutes from time, Roland Sallai scored the winner for the home team, who now sit six points off top spot with two games in hand in the Cypriot Division table. APOEL have now won five games in a row in their league, netting 19 goals in doing so, though they have found themselves to be out of their depth in the Champions League. Despite drawing twice against Borussia Dortmund, they have lost their three meetings with Real Madrid and Tottenham 12-0 on aggregate, including a 6-0 defeat in their last Champions League outing. Despite this, they still have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League, with the team needing to better Dortmund’s result against Real Madrid to secure European football post-Christmas.

APOEL Nicosia Team News

Boy Waterman (arm) is set to miss out for APOEL here.
