Torino vs Sassuolo Match Prediction

By Phill Barrs

Each of Torino and Sassuolo had a decent start to the season last week with draws, but each will be looking to get their first victory of the season this weekend in Turin. Torino came away from week one with a 1-1 draw from their trip to Bologna. They will have been disappointed to have done so in the end after dominating for large stretches. Their goal came from Adam Llajic after 33 minutes, but they failed to muster a winner. Sassuolo also drew their opener, though, it was at home. They faced Genoa and it ended in a 0-0 stalemate with little in it between the two teams. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Torino were the most fun side in all of Serie A last season to watch. Whether they won or lost, there were goals- and usually loads of them- involved. With Joe Hart now gone, there is no real consensus on what that means. But it's likely to continue. We think they should be able to get a win in this match with Belotti grabbing a goal, but they always are capable of giving up goals. Torino also took four points from Sassuolo last season, with Torino scoring five goals in a 5-3 win in this fixture at the end of May. Torino to win and both teams scoring can bring you 5/2. Andrea Belotti to score in either half for his first goal of the Serie A season could bring you 5/2 odds.

Torino Preview

Torino got a point from an away match to open the season, so it wasn't all bad. But they did put together a lot of possession and dominated for a while, but ultimately they could not get the goal that would win them the match. That's a disappointing outcome given how good their striker, Andrea Belotti, is and what he can bring to the table. There weren't many times where he didn't score a goal in two matches straight last season, so it's hard to see how he'll not get on the score sheet here. Keeping him is of massive importance to them, and he's their biggest hope.

Torino Team News

Midfielders Mirko Valdifiori and Daniele Baselli will miss out due to injuries. After dealing with sickness, Lyanco should be available this weekend.

Sassuolo Preview

Sassuolo also got a draw in the first round of play. The match they had with Genoa was very even, but the away side might just have edged them. That will be a little discouraging to them, and it will show them that there is definite work to be done. They still have some exciting pieces up front, though, so you can't just count them out when you face them. But after losing their main man in midfield in Pellegrini to Roma, it's clear that they are just missing something at the moment.

Sassuolo Team News

Sassuolo will be without left back Cristian Dell'Orco for nearly the rest of the year, and thus will be unable to use him.
