Torino vs Hellas Verona Match Prediction

By William Hall

Torino will be looking to bounce back from a 4-0 defeat to rivals Juventus this weekend as they welcome Serie A strugglings Hellas Verona to Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino this weekend. Torino were yet to lose a game before the thrashing last weekend wile Hellas Verona have been able to win a match so far this season, picking up just two points and sitting 19th in the table. A reaction will be wanted this weekend. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

On paper, Torino look as if they are going to be way too strong this weekend for a poor looking and out of form Hellas Verona side. Over the years there has been many draws between these two sides, but this season it looks as if Torino have excelled whereas Hellas Verona are starting to drop. With the home form that Torino have, teams always find it a tough place to go and for me, Hellas Verona will almost be expecting a defeat this weekend having won just twice in their last twenty-seven games on the road.

With Torino scoring goals for fun and Hellas Verona scoring just once in six games, I can see this being a bit of a thumping for Hellas Verona. On three occasions already this season Hellas Verona has been beaten by the -2 Handicap result, and with how things are looking, I can see that happening once again when the sides go head to head. Below are my favourite betting tips and predictions for the game.

Torino Preview

Torino have had a bright start to the season, winning three and drawing two of their opening six games. Last time out their solid start to the season was shattered after being smashed by local rivals Juventus. They didn't come close to Juventus in truth and were outclassed by the team with a lot more class. However, before that, they were seeing of sides for fun and scoring a lot of goals. Andrea Belotti has started the season brightly after the interest from many big clubs around Europe in the summer, scoring three goals in the sides opening six matches. He is going to be a huge part in Torino's season if they are going to be able to compete for the European positions come the end of the campaign. At home, Torino tends to be very solid, and the stats prove that having lost just two games in their last 21 matches on home soil. Against an out of form opponent this weekend, I can see them getting another win under their belts.

Torino Team News

Torino have four players out this weekend with Joel Chukuma Obi (muscle injury), Antonio Barreca (thigh injury), Kevin Bonifazi (knee injury) and Daniele Baselli (suspension) all sidelined.

Hellas Verona Preview

Hellas Verona have had a shocking start to the season which makes it difficult to mention anything positive about the side. A lack of goals has hurt the team this season with Hellas Verona being able to hit the back of the net just once in six games. They will need to sort this out as soon as possible as they are making it easy for opponents to get the better of them. In three of their four defeats this season, they have been beaten by the -2 handicap result making me think it will happen again this weekend. If their form so far this season isn't bad enough, their away form stretching into last season is even worse. Hellas Verona have been able to win just twice on the road in their last twenty-seven attempts which doesn't give them to much hope going into this weekend.

Hellas Verona Team News

Four players will miss the visit to Torino this weekend for Hellas Verona with Alex Ferrari (leg injury), Gian Filippo Gelicioli (thigh injury), Nicolo Cherubin (hand injury) and Matteo Bianchetti (spinal cord injury) all out.
