Betting Tips and Predictions

There will be a buoyant mood amongst both teams coming into this weekend’s fixture following their wins last weekend. I’m expecting this to be a score draw, with both sides pretty evenly-matched coming into this one.

Swansea City Preview

Paul Clement will have been relieved that his side were able to get a victory under their belts before the international break following their 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace. Neither side had scored a goal, let alone picked up a victory going into the fixture, leaving both teams under real pressure to get the win. Tammy Abraham scored his first Premier League goal for the club shortly before half-time to give the Swans the lead going into the break at Selhurst Park before Jordan Ayew made it 2-0 minutes into the second half as the club made it five games unbeaten on the road in all competitions. The goal will now be to put on a better show for the Liberty Stadium supporters, who saw their team lose 4-0 against Manchester United in their opening home fixture of the campaign. Generally, though, Clement has overseen successful results at home as Swansea boss, guiding his team to six wins from his nine matches at the Liberty.

Swansea City Team News

Defender Kyle Bartley and winger Nathan Dyer are both sidelined for Swansea with knee and achilles problems, respectively. Leon Britton (back) and Jordan Ayew (stomach) will hope to shake off knocks to feature.

Newcastle United Preview

Newcastle’s convincing 3-0 win over West Ham prior to the international break was an impeccably timed one, giving the club a lift it was in desperate need of after a difficult start to the season. The crowd at St. James’ Park were fired up for the encounter and were all brought to their feet in the 36th minute when Joselu scored his first goal for the club following good work from Christian Atsu. Ciaran Clark doubled the lead eighteen minutes from time in the second half after heading in Matt Ritchie’s cross and Aleksandr Mitrovic made the result safe four minutes from time. Rafa Benitez has accrued widespread sympathy it seems in the footballing world after Mike Ashley failed to deliver the funds promised to the Spaniard in the transfer window, leaving him to work with much of the same squad that won promotion last season. Newcastle haven’t won away from home in the Premier League since December 2015, a 2-1 win away at Tottenham Hotspur and have since gone twelve games in a row without a win in the top flight stretching back to the season before last.

Newcastle United Team News

Aleksandr Mitrovic is suspended while there are a number of defensive injuries, with DeAndre Yedlin, Chancel Mbemba and Paul Dummett all suffering with hamstring problems.
