Swansea City Preview

Paul Clement and Swansea supporters must’ve been dreaming alike of a shock result during half-time at Arsenal last weekend after seeing his side going into the break a goal to the good. It came courtesy of midfielder Sam Clucas, who netted his first for the club in doing so and ensured his team went in ahead at the break following a disappointing display from the home side. However, Sead Kolasinac equalised just six minutes into the second half, before former Cardiff man Aaron Ramsey completed the turnaround with a composed finish on the hour mark. Following that result, it’s now just one win for Swansea in their last seven Premier League games, bringing back a return of just four points during that time period. This form now only sees the Swans sit outside of the bottom three on goal difference, finding themselves level on points with Everton and the pressure must be beginning to grow on the shoulders of Clement. Swansea’s recent plight has gone somewhat under the radar, perhaps given that more high-profile sides are in a similar position to themselves at this moment in time.

Swansea City Team News

Kyle Bartley (knee) is missing for Swansea. Renato Sanches (thigh) is doubtful, while Martin Olsson and Wilfried Bony face fitness tests on their hamstring problems.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton showed their ability to respond in the face of adversity last time out, as they fought back from a slow start to earn a solid 1-1 draw at home to Southampton last Sunday afternoon. Saints were fastest out the traps and were rewarded for their early urgency and intensity when Steven Davis headed them in front after James Ward-Prowse’s free-kick rattled the woodwork from distance. In truth, Brighton could’ve fallen further behind but avoided doing so thanks to some resolute defending and were rewarded for their efforts in the second half when Glenn Murray provided the equaliser. It’s now three unbeaten in the Premier League for the Seagulls, who have also lost just one of their last five - that came in a 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal - and now sit 12th in the Premier League table. Manager Chris Hughton couldn’t have asked for too much more from his players from their opening ten games, particularly when considering how many outside the club believed they would be fighting off relegation for 38 games. By no means are they safe from that prospect, but they are setting the foundations early on of what could prove to be an excellent season.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Steve Sidwell (back) is missing for Brighton this weekend.
