Swansea City vs AFC Bournemouth Match Prediction

By Dean Carr

Swansea City face Bournemouth at the Liberty Stadium on 25/11/17 as the home team looks to turn around their recent losing streak. Swansea were well beaten 2-0 away to Burnley last weekend, while Bournemouth thrashed Huddersfield Town 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium. Read on for a full match preview complete with betting tips and predictions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This Swansea side looks completely drained of confidence at this moment in time, as they struggle to pose a threat in attack. Bournemouth on the other hand are having something of a resurgence at present and I’m expecting them to get a result here.

Swansea City Preview

There’s probably no manager under more pressure in the Premier League than Paul Clement at this moment in time, after he watched his side lose 2-0 away to Burnley last weekend to suffer yet another defeat. Clement sanctioned the sale of midfielder Jack Cork to the Clarets and it was he who put them ahead, heading home from Robbie Brady’s cross after wandering into the box unmarked. Ashley Barnes’ thunderous effort then doubled Burnley’s lead, as Sean Dyche’s men took a comfortable three points and remained 7th in the league, while Swansea stay stuck in the relegation zone. Losing their last five in a row in all competitions, as well as suffering a total of seven defeats in eight games, it’s been a horrendous run for the Swans in recent weeks. Tammy Abraham remains the side’s leading goalscorer at this moment in time with four goals from 12 league games, but no other player has more than one goal to their name in the Premier League, highlighting where their main issues lie. Despite boasting a solid home record under Clement last season, Swansea have won just one of their six home games this season, losing the other five.

Swansea City Team News

Kyle Bartley (knee) and Angel Rangel (groin) are both set to miss out, but Tammy Abraham (back) should be available.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Bournemouth picked up from where they left off before the international break by continuing their solid run of form with an emphatic 4-0 defeat of Huddersfield Town. A Callum Wilson double inside the first half an hour of the game sent the Cherries on their way, though they suffered what easily could’ve turned out to be a setback when Simon Francis was sent off just before half-time. However, Harry Arter scored the game’s crucial goal, making it 3-0 with 20 minutes to play, before Wilson sealed his hat-trick five minutes from time to move Bournemouth up to 13th in the table. Now winning four of their last five games in all competitions, Bournemouth are beginning to build some momentum once again, with Chelsea being the only team to defeat them since their 2-1 win away to Stoke that started this run of form. There remains too much quality for this side to be involved in a relegation battle, though Eddie Howe never really came under an awful lot of pressure during their struggles. Coming into this game off the back of back-to-back away wins in the Premier League, the Cherries now have the chance to win three successive top-flight away games for the first time in their history.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Adam Federici (knee) and Tyrone Mings (back) are both ruled out for Bournemouth, while captain Simon Francis is suspended. Junior Stanislas (groin) is doubtful.
