St.Johnstone vs Hamilton Academical Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

St Johnstone were only able to snatch a 1-1 draw with Hibernian at McDiarmid Park. Efe Ambrose provided the away team with a lead after just two minutes, but the hosts received a major advantage when goalkeeper Ofir Marciano was sent off for handling the ball outside the box. His 14th-minute red card provided a huge impetus for Tommy Wright’s team, whose perseverance finally paid off with Christopher Kane’s equaliser in the 83rd minute. However, there was not to be a winner. Hamilton are unbeaten in three after a 2-2 draw with Ross County. Jamie Lindsay’s first-half goal was cancelled out by Dougie Imrie and Marios Ogboe. Andrew Davies, though, came up with the equaliser for Ross County in the 76th minute.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The recent play from St Johnstone has been extremely good and the Saints are preparing themselves for a third consecutive win over Hamilton. Martin Canning’s team not only have the disadvantage of playing on the road, but they have a poor record at the McDiarmid Park – three losses in the last four visits. A great value pick in this game would be to back an St Johnstone win.

Games involving Hamilton have been incredibly entertaining over the last few weeks. It is incredible that just one of the last eight SPL matches for Martin Canning’s team has produced more than 2.5 goals. St Johnstone also look good going forward. In such a scenario, I would back over 2.5 goals in total.

St.Johnstone Preview

After a lot of struggles over the last few months, it finally seems that St Johnstone are starting to hit a good run of form. Despite failing to win against 10-men Hibernian during the weekend, St Johnstone can be pleased with their efforts. Even with the improvement in form, St Johnstone may have to settle for a place in the bottom six. The club are eight points behind sixth-placed Hearts and it would take a remarkable turnaround to witness Wright’s team back in the top six. Christopher Kane came back from the Queen of South and has been able to score three goals in his last two games.

St.Johnstone Team News

Ricky Foster (tendon), Callum Hendry (knee), and Stefan Scougall (knee) are the players unavailable for Wright.

Hamilton Academical Preview

A three-game unbeaten run, which includes two wins, has been able to get Hamilton away from the bottom few places. The games involving Hamilton have been entertaining in recent weeks, but this may not delight manager Martin Canning, who has seen his Hamilton team possess the second worst defensive record in the division with 50 goals conceded in the 28 games. Purely in terms of average goals conceded per match, Hamilton are the worst defensive team in the division; the team has conceded 1.78 goals per game so far. David Templeton and Dougie Imrie are the club’s top scorers with six goals each.

Hamilton Academical Team News

Alistair Crawford (knee), Darren Jamieson (jaw), and Darian Mackinnon (knee) are the players missing from action for Hamilton.
