Sassuolo vs Juventus Match Prediction

By William Hall

Juventus look to extend its perfect Serie A record on Sunday when they take on Sassuolo away from home on match day four. Sassuolo come into the match after a 2-1 loss at Atalanta last time out. Meanwhile, Juve won 3-0 against Chievo in Serie A last weekend before facing Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League, Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Juventus won both home and away last season against their hosts this weekend. They have six wins against them in total as well, with just a win and draw as negative results in those eight matches. Sassuolo, more worryingly, have scored just four goals in those eight matches. Even with Juventus featuring in the Champions League, they should be big time favourites to come out and win against Sassuolo. Higuain scored three goals across the two matches last season, so he is a favourite to score here.

Juve to win and keep a clean sheet is at 13/10

Gonzalo Higuain to score is at 4/5 anytime

Juventus scored over 2.5 goals in 6 out of their last 10 games played

Juventus have won 8 of their last 10 games played against Sassuolo

Sassuolo Preview

Sassuolo have yet to register a win in their first three matches, and they have just a lone point to show for their efforts thus far. After losing their manager and a couple of influential players, it is really starting to show on them. They should be able to avoid relegation, but they shouldn't be expected to do too much more. They are so far removed from being the team that upset Juve back in October of 2015. They began their season with a 0-0 draw against Genoa at home. Next was a loss to another Turin side in Torino by a score of 3-0 away. Last Sunday, they fell to Atalanta 2-1. They had taken a lead through Stefano Sensi after 27 minutes and looked to have a good foothold in the game. But it took just eight minutes for Andreas Cornelius to equalize for Atalanta. They would win it in the 77th minute when Andrea Petagna scored to seal what was really a smash and grab for the home side.

Sassuolo Team News

Left back Cristian Dell'Orco will be out until December due to the knee rupture he sustained back in May. No other injuries or suspensions are looming large over their heads, however.

Juventus Preview

Juventus have began very well in the league, but they still have a feeling of uneasiness that is lingering over them. How and why this has came to be is unknown, but a lot of that goes back to selling Leonardo Bonucci and the loss in the Champions League Final. The loss to Barcelona in midweek will only compound these issues at the present time. But this is still a strong team capable of beating anyone in the world, and especially anyone in Italy. They overcame Cagliari 3-0 at home on opening day and then defeated Genoa 2-4 away after trailing by two early on. Last Saturday, they defeated Chievo 3-0 at home. They used a Perparim Hetemaj own goal in the 17th minute, a Gonzalo Higuain goal in the 58th, and an 83rd minute finish from Paulo Dybala to lock up all three points. Away to Barcelona on Tuesday, they lost 3-0. Lionel Messi struck twice, and he set up a goal for Ivan Rakitic as the Catalans gained a measure of revenge upon Juve for their ouster in the quarterfinals last season.

Juventus Team News

Max Allegri suddenly not only has a team with a lack of confidence in themselves, but he also has a team with some injuries to contend with. Joining seemingly permanent injured man Marko Pjaca are center midfielders Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio, center back Giorgio Chiellini, right back Mattia De Sciglio, and forward Mario Mandzukic. We know that Pjaca and Marchisio are due back in a couple of weeks, but the status of the others are still in the air.
