Sassuolo vs Bologna Match Prediction

Sassuolo welcome Bologna to Mapei Stadium this weekend as two of this season's slow starters go head to head in a game that could prove so crucial come the end of the season. Sassuolo come into this game off the back of their first win of the season, beating Cagliari 1-0 away from home whereas Bologna secured a well-earned point at home to high-flying Inter Milan. Both sides will come into this one with confidence, shaping it up to be an entertaining encounter. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.
Betting Tips and Predictions
This looks a tough one to call this weekend with both sides coming into this one of the back of positive results. They look very evenly matched on paper and with them side by side in the table; this is a massive game. I know it's early on in the season, but getting one over on opponents that are realistically going to be close to you come the end of the season is important. For me, the lack of foals for Sassuolo home and away really worries me. I don't see where the goals are going to come from and as we all know, goals are needed to win games.
Bologna will go into this one fired up and confident they can get a positive result after holding one of the leagues best teams to a draw during the week. Whenever these two sides have played, it has always been very close. In fact, in six of the seven times, they have played the scoreline has been separated by no more than one goal once again showing how evening matched they are. I can't see there being many goals this weekend, but it will defiantly be a close encounter.

Sassuolo Preview
Sassuolo didn't have the stat they would have been looking for, losing three of their first four games and drawing the other. However, a win away from home to Cagliari last time out would have lifted the spirits within the camp which they will be hoping will lead to another win this weekend. The worrying thing for this Sassuolo side is where the goals are going to come from this season. They have managed to score just three up to now, and no one player had scored more than one goal yet. In teams, it is always good to have that one player you can rely on to go and get your double digits goals a season, but in this side, I just can't see where that is going to come from. If they are going to get a win in this one, I can't see there being many goals in it.
Sassuolo Team News
Sassoulo have two players out this weekend with Domenico Beradri (foot injury) and Cristian Dell'Orco (ACL) both recovering from injuries.
Bologna Preview
Bologna can take a lot of confidence from their last game as they were able to hold Inter Milan to a draw, after Milan winning all of their first four games. This put an end to two straight defeats for the side which they will be hoping is a turning point in the season. The season started well for the away side this weekend after drawing with Torino on the opening day and beating Benevento the following week. However, back to back defeats against Napoli and Fiorentina saw them slip down the table. This is a good chance to get back to winning ways this weekend, and if they can snatch an early goal, I am confident they would be able to hold on due to the lack of quality going forward for Sassuolo.
Bologna Team News
Bologna have a hand full of players sidelined this weekend with Vasilios Totosidis (thigh injury), Ladislav Krejci (head injury), Domenico Maietta (thigh injury), Cesar Falletti (ankle injury) and Cheick Keita (groin injury) all out.
