Ross County vs St.Johnstone Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Ross County come on the back of a second consecutive loss, as the team suffered a 2-1 defeat against Hibernian at the Easter Road stadium. Despite taking the lead through Craig Curran after just 14 minutes, Owen Coyle’s team fell to another loss following a strong comeback from Hibernian – two goals from Anthony Stokes and Oliver Shaw. St Johnstone were involved in a goalless draw with Hearts at the McDiarmid Park. There was not an outstanding moment in the game that would have led to the opening goal. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

St Johnstone have been able to win three out of the last five meetings with Ross County and all of these victories have been at the Global Energy Stadium. Ross County have managed only one win in the last eight games against this opponent and this victory was not at home. Tommy Wright’s team are close to putting behind their poor form and they are aiming for a fourth consecutive away win. I would back an away win in this game. Despite struggling for results, Ross County find themselves in a good attacking moment with six goals in the last four games. St Johnstone have been able to come up with six goals in the last three away games. I would back both teams to score.

Ross County Preview

The form of Ross County has taken a nosedive in recent weeks, and it is not surprising to see the team at the bottom of the Scottish Premier League table on Christmas. Over the last six matches, the team has taken just two points – the same as Motherwell. The spring in step seen immediately after the arrival of Owen Coyle has now completely gone out of the picture. Ross County have been let down badly by a defence that has conceded 11 goals in the last six. Away form is especially poor for the team with four losses in the last six. Craig Curran leads the scoring charts at Ross County with five goals in 19.

Ross County Team News

Owen Coyle will be without Sean Kelly (knee) due to an injury.

St.Johnstone Preview

The St Johnstone outfit have slowly been regaining their form in recent games, as the team moves away from a bad September and October. St Johnstone still have to go a distance before recovering the top six positions that they occupied at the start of the season. Even though Kilmarnock are level on points, Steve Clarke and his men have much better confidence over the last few weeks. St Johnstone have picked up 10 points from the last six matches – not too far away from Celtic and Kilmarnock who have picked up 13. Steve MacLean and Michael O’Halloran remain as the leading scorers at the club with five goals each.

St.Johnstone Team News

Aaron Comrie (tendon) and Murray Davidson (malleolar) are the players on the sidelines for St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright.
