Ross County vs Kilmarnock Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Ross County’s disappointing run continued with an anticipated 2-1 loss against Rangers at Ibrox stadium. Craig Curran had silenced Ibrox with his 10th minute goal from a header, but Rangers were able to make a successful comeback through goals from Alfredo Morelos and Danny Wilson in the second half. Rangers had opportunities to score many more goals in the game. Kilmarnock produced a five-star performance to beat Partick Thistle 5-1 at home. Kris Boyd’s early goal was cancelled out by Chris Erskine in the 16th minute, but Kilmarnock’s lead was re-established through Eamonn Brophy. In the second half, goals from Niall Keown (own goal), Brophy, and Boyd (penalty) provided an impressive win for the home team. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Ross County have been extremely poor in recent weeks and Kilmarnock may just be in the best possible shape to take advantage of the situation. Both teams have managed to wins apiece in the last four meetings, while Kilmarnock were able to get a victory in their recent visit to the Global Energy Stadium in March. Kilmarnock’s away record is also excellent with seven games without a loss. I would back a win for Kilmarnock. Ross County may be poor at scoring goals, but they have been rather decent with only less than 2.5 goals conceded in the last five league matches. It could have been so different with Rangers creating several opportunities in the recent game. Kilmarnock are expected to score goals, and I see value in backing over 1.5 goals from Kilmarnock.

Ross County Preview

The honeymoon period for Owen Coyle at the Ross County is over with the team going on a very poor run of form over the last few weeks. Immediately after his appointment, Ross County were able to get two wins in three matches. Since then, the team has picked up just one win in the last seven. Other teams have been able to capitalise on this run, as the likes of Dundee and Hamilton have been able to move up the table by leapfrogging Ross County, who have now been pushed to 11th place. The club have been affected by a poor scoring form, and they have scored more than 2.5 goals only once this season. Craig Curran and Michael Gardyne are the leading scorer with three goals each.

Ross County Team News

There are no injuries or suspensions for Ross County coming into this match.

Kilmarnock Preview

Kilmarnock produced the first home win of Steve Clarke’s regime in style after a 5-1 thrashing of Partick Thistle. After having been patient for this victory, Kilmarnock will be looking to build on two home games in the next two league matches. The team has managed three wins in the last five, and it has propelled them into the eighth place of the SPL 2017-18 table. After having been amongst the lowest scorers in the division so far this season, Kilmarnock’s scoring record now looks decent with 19 goals in 17. Kris Boyd is the top scorer with five goals in 14.

Kilmarnock Team News

Greg Kiltie (knee), Iain Wilson (knee), and Steven Smith (back) are the injury troubles for Clarke.
