Roma Preview

Roma’s 2-0 defeat on the road at Atletico Madrid was their sole loss in their last ten games across all competitions. The Giallorossi were on a two-game winless streak prior to their 3-1 home victory over Spal in the Serie A at the weekend. Roma currently sit second in the Champions League group C table with eight points after five rounds, just two points behind the group leaders Chelsea and two points more than the third-placed Atletico Madrid. They are just one victory away from the next stage of the competition and they could also steal the top spot in the group if the results elsewhere go their way. The Giallorossi can count on their recent home form as they have won their last five competitive fixtures, conceding just two goals in the process. Regarding their Champions League home record, Roma were on a four-game winless streak prior to their 3-0 win over Chelsea in their most recent home game in the competition. Edin Dzeko has been in fantastic shape this season, helping the team with 11 goals and three assists across all competitions. Stephan El Shaarawy has also enjoyed a good run of form, scoring six goals in both Serie A and Champions League.

Roma Team News

Gregoire Defrel is a doubt, while Rick Karsdorp is out through injury. In addition, Bruno Peres is missing through suspension. The good news is that Diego Perotti and Radja Nainggolan are both back in training.

Qarabag FK Preview

Qarabag lost 0-4 at home against Chelsea last time out in the Champions League, but they bounced back with three consecutive victories in their domestic competitions. They are rock bottom of the group C with just two points to their name after five rounds and they are already out from the competition. The Azeri sides were never likely to stand a chance in this group and their biggest problems throughout this campaign have been at the back. They have conceded 13 goals in 5 rounds, which is one of the worst defensive records in this Champions League group stage campaign. Regarding their recent Champions League away record, Qarabag are currently on a three-game winless streak, scoring just two goals in the process. In addition, Qarabag have lost on both previous trips to Italy, having scored just once in this term. Their overall record against Italian teams reads one draw and four defeats in five meetings. The good news is that Qarabag have scored at least once in four of their last five away games across all competitions. Pedro Henrique and the experienced striker Michel are Qarabag’s joint top scorers throughout this group stage campaign with just one goal each.

Qarabag FK Team News

Tarik Elyounoussi and Badavi Guseynov are both doubts, while Rashad Farhad Sadygov is suspended.
