Roma vs Bologna Match Prediction

By William Hall

In-form Roma welcome Bologna to Stadio Olimpico this weekend in Serie A. With six wins in their last seven games, Roma are one of Serie A's most in-form sides and are playing with a lot of confidence and swagger. Most recently Roma saw off Crotone on home soil which is a great result considering they would have played five games in two weeks after this game. Bologna have now suffered back to back defeats after putting together three straight wins which would have been a massive hit to the confidence. However, a response will be wanted and having already held the top teams this season they will feel they can do it again. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

With the current form, Roma are on; I cant see them making any mistakes this weekend. Bologna have played excellent football at stages this season but the lack of consistency is going to hurt them if they keep slipping up is games they should be winning. In truth, this isn't a game they will go into expecting to win, but if they do play at their best, they have every chance. Roma will be full of confidence because of their form in Serie A as well as in the Champions League. With Edin Dzeko in fighting form, I can't see Bologna getting a look in this weekend.

Roma Preview

Roma have been outstanding this season whether it is in the league, cup or Europe. Coming into this one, they have won six of their last seven matches in Serie A which has only been enough to see them 5th in the table. However, they do have game in hand over all of the other teams above them meaning the gap could be closed in weeks to come. One player in particular who has been impressive is Edin Dzeko who has scored seven goals in nine games in the league, that's not including his remarkable record in the Champions League up to now. I wouldn't be surprised if he were involved again this weekend.

Roma Team News

Roma have four players out this weekend with Emerson (ACL), Luca Pellegrini (ACL), Konstantinos (thigh injury) and Rick Karsdorp (ACL) all sidelined.

Bologna Preview

Bologna were on a very good run for around four games where they picked up ten points from a possible 12. However, they have been unable to follow up on that in their last couple of games, seeing back to back defeats to Atalanta and Lazio. They will be desperate to get back to winning ways this weekend, but that will defiantly be easier said than done against a side in the form such as Roma. The run they had taken them well away from the bottom three which takes a lot of pressure on them at this stage. But they must bounce back from recent results if they are going to stay away from the bottom three and play the entire season without the pressure from the fans if they are near the bottom and in a relegation scrap.

Bologna Team News

Bologna have seven players missing this weekend with Cheick Keita (groin injury), Rodrigo Palacio (thigh injury), Godfred Donsah (muscle injury), Vasilios Torosidis (muscle injury), Antonio Mirante (hand injury), Saphir Taider (thigh injury) and Giancarlo Gonzale (suspension) all out.
