Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid have definitely struggled for fluency throughout this 2017/18 competitive season. For example, their form over the past two months have seen them win five, lose three and draw three of their last ten games across all competitions. Their recent home form have also been bad as they have won just two of their last six competitive home fixtures. The only good news is that Los Blancos are undefeated in 19 home games in the Champions League, keeping ten clean sheets in the process. In addition, Zinedine Zidane’s men looked decent of late and enter the fray on the back of a comfortable 5-2 home victory against Real Sociedad in La Liga at the weekend. Head-to-head, Real MAdrid have won three of their last five meetings with PSG across all competitions, keeping four clean sheets in the process. Another positive thing is that Cristiano Ronaldo got back to goalscoring ways of late after a poor start to the season. The Portuguese superstar has now eleven goals under his belt in La Liga and he is also the Champions League’s top scorer so far this season with nine goals to his name.

Real Madrid Team News

Daniel Ceballos is a doubt, but Jesus Vallejo is still out through injury. In addition, Daniel Carvajal is missing through suspension.

Paris Saint Germain Preview

PSG, on the other hand, have been in excellent form this season and their recent form have seen them win 14 of their last 15 competitive fixtures. Les Parisiens sit comfortably at the top of the Ligue 1 table with 65 points after 25 rounds, already twelve points clear of the second-placed Monaco. Regarding their Champions League campaign, the French team finished top of the group B table after kicking off the campaign with a 3-0 home win over Bayern Munich. This is PSG’s 6th consecutive appearance in the round of 16, and the interesting fact is that it’s actually their sixth overall. The only negative fact is that PSG have won just twice in their last five Champions League trips. However, their recent away form across all competitions have seen them win nine of their last ten trips. Edinson Cavani and Neymar have bagged 40 goals and 15 assists between them throughout this Ligue 1 season, while the Uruguayan striker has also netted six goals in the Champions League.

Paris Saint Germain Team News

Edinson Cavani, Hatem Ben Arfa and Lavyin Kurzawa are all doubts, but Thiago Motta is back in training.
