Real Madrid vs Levante Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Real Madrid failed to win the first home game of the season, as the reigning European champions could only manage a 2-2 draw with Valencia. Marco Asensio came up with the first goal of the game after just 10 minutes, but Carlos Soler equalised for Valencia just eight minutes later. A late goal from Geoffrey Kondogbia appeared to give Valencia a shock win, but Marco Asensio stepped up to equalise with a clever free-kick. Levante produced a remarkable comeback to register a 2-2 draw with Deportivo La Coruna. Federico Cartabia and Sidnei had put Pepe Mel’s team 2-0 ahead after just 31 minutes, but Enis Bardhi’s stunning free-kick pulled one back for the home team after 35 minutes. Despite José Morales’ red card in the 76th minute, Levante equalised through Ivi Lopez penalty in the 83rd minute. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Madrid have scored 16 goals in the last five meetings with Levante going back to 2014. Madrid have been able to score five goals in the opening two games. Even with Karim Benzema struggling for form, the club have quality all around on the pitch to be able to score goals. Levante receive the first major test upon the return to the top flight, as they are away at the Santiago Bernabeu. Levante have not scored in the last three visits to this ground. I would back this game to finish as a 3-0 win for Real Madrid.

Bale has two goals in his three games against Levante, while he came up with the opening goal in the match against Deportivo La Coruna. I see reasonable value in backing Bale to score anytime in the game.

Real Madrid 3-0 win – 13/2

Gareth Bale to score anytime – 7/12

Real Madrid Preview

The dropped points against Valencia once again highlighted issues within the squad for the defending champions. Despite having plenty of chances to finish off the away team, Madrid had to settle for a point. The club had opened the campaign with a comfortable win over Deportivo La Coruna. Now, Madrid are set for two consecutive home games in all competitions. Manager Zinedine Zidane has been able to prune the squad this summer and it has given rise to Marco Asensio, who has two goals this season.

Real Madrid Team News

Cristiano Ronaldo continues his suspension, while Jesus Vallejo is a doubt with a thigh injury.

Levante Preview

Levante would be a happy outfit after having avoided defeat in the first two games of the 2017-18 La Liga season. Despite promotion after winning the Segunda division, there was always doubts about the club’s ability to remain in the division. However, manager Juan Muniz has already witnessed a significant fight from his team in the two games. The recent home match against Deportivo La Coruna may have produced just one point, but coming back from a 2-0 position to at least get the point is a confidence booster for the club.

Levante Team News

José Morales is suspended for the game, while Roger Salvador (cruciate ligament) is unavailable due to injury.
